Spoke at Headstart Network Foundation's event on 'AI Startup Landscape'. Discussed our journey of building an AI startup and a framework for entrepreneurs building AI startups. Very interesting and spirited discussion with an audience comprising startup founders and technologists. As expected at the relatively early stage of a fast emerging technology, opinions vary on the impact of Gen AI on the startup landscape and enterprises. A few points from my session below: -Today's Gen AI tools provide access to many powerful capabilities for B2B use cases. Use those to quickly build what your users want (and iterate where needed). - Identify pain points in enterprises that can be solved by Gen AI – the problem has to be real - Workflows and integration are as important for enterprises as the core technology. Identify areas to bring efficiency using Gen AI without significant change in processes and systems - Ensure there is a large enough TAM to build over the long term

Startups that are not A.I Powered trying to raise in 2024 🤩 Yesterday I was at a VC’s & Founders meetup event , met someone who introduced his startup as XYZ.ai (for matching & connecting people and I couldn’t see where A.I will come in) so I asked, what is the job of the A.I in what they are building? His Responses: Do you want the real answer or the marketing answer? Me: The real answer please Him: There is no AI in it 😂 We started laughing #tech #startup #ai

AI has the potential to change the whole startup game. Barriers to entry that have persisted for decades are going to be drastically lowered. Historically, the early-stage requirements for getting off the ground, coming up with your concept and building your initial MVP, has been really prohibitive to those without access to seed funding. There were only so many ways of getting from A to B. Now though, with the plethora of AI tools coming onto the market, Founders can realistically DIY their idea, design their brand and self-build a prototype or concept. AI marketing tools can even facilitate going to market as rapidly as possible. It’s a super exciting time that is going to give a whole new generation of entrepreneurs the ability to take their ideas and make them into something real. We’re going to start seeing way more diverse businesses and diverse Founders as barriers for entry are lowered. People who, in the past, might not have access to the necessary resources or connections for success can now feasibly go their own way. This could be a true democratisation of the startup ecosystem. #startup #AItools #Foundership

Software that solves a core user problem and remains valuable regardless of the underlying technology always will be considered timeless. Most founders should avoid building a generic solutions regardless the technology they use.
