Telkom’s investment arm, Telkomsel Ventures, leads undisclosed funds of Singapore AI developer startup Tictag to maximize AI implementation in the archipelago. This investment was carried out by Telkomsel’s investment unit in collaboration with M Venture Partners, East Ventures, Investible, and SBI Ven Capital. According to the CEO of Telkomsel Ventures, Mia Melinda, The quality and performance of AI depend mainly on the data used to train it. US Government enacts #cfius in forcing the sale of shares held by Saudi aramco's diversified growth investment entity Prosperity7 Ventures in US-based Rain AI. Looks like the acquiring entity will be Grep VC, a San Mateo-based venture capital investor focused on AI and robotics. I have not really seen this #cfius forced sale taking place of shares in US deeptech entities held by foreign-linked investors. For the benefit of future investors in US #deeptech and #ai companies, perhaps #cfius should be clearer and improve the process to pre-empt such situations to avoid arduous and time consuming divestment processes after the consummation of the original investment. I would not be surprised if this takes place more frequently going forward. Rain Neuromorphics, is a startup backed by OpenAI Co-Founder #samaltman and focuses on the designing of chips that mimic the way the brain works and aims to serve companies using artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms, and raised $25 million in 2022, including from Prosperity7 Ventures. Good Capital, a venture capital firm based in Mauritius, plans to invest $25 million in Indian AI startups this fiscal year. The investment comes from their $50 million Good Capital Fund II, to be utilized by 2027. Arjun Malhotra, General Partner at Good Capital, stated that they aim to invest in technology products addressing India-centric issues, primarily targeting sectors like cleantech, e-commerce, edtech, healthtech, SaaS, and deeptech. Alex Zhou has been elevated to managing partner at Qiming Venture Partners, a venture capital firm, with the responsibility of leading the business's investments in emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence. Zhou joined Qiming as a vice president in 2014 and has subsequently managed or participated in #investments in tech firms across the AI, robotics, semiconductor, new energy vehicles, and software sectors. Zhou is Qiming's fourth managing partner, following Duan Kuang, Nisa Leung, and William 旭波 Hu 胡. His noteworthy investments include the consumer products company Roborock, which is funded by Xiaomi, the robotics manufacturer UBTech, the voice recognition unicorn Unisound, the AI chip developer Biren Technology, and the electric vehicle manufacturer ROX Motor. Additionally, he made investments in Zhipu AI, one of China's fastest-rising generative AI businesses aiming to emulate the success of US counterparts like OpenAI and Anthropic, and Deepway, a robotruck #startup supported by Baidu. A business statement on Thursday said that Zhou's elevation to the most senior position in the company "demonstrates Qiming's continued confidence in the future of technology innovation." The Biden administration has forced an aramco venture capital firm to sell its shares in a Silicon Valley AI chip startup backed by OpenAI co-founder Sam Altman, Bloomberg reported.   Prosperity7 Ventures, a lead investor in a funding round that raised $25m for Rain AI in 2022, sold its shares in the startup after a review by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States.
