Hey, everyone! I'm here at the Local Profile's 22nd annual Women in Business Summit, and I've got three key networking takeaways for you, all in under 60 seconds First, remember to be approachable, give them that friendly smile and a warm handshake. It goes a long way in making a lasting impression. Second, listen actively. Networking isn't just about talking about yourself; it's about learning from others. Show genuine interest in what others have to say, and you'll build meaningful connections. Lastly, follow up! ( this is the marketing part ) After the event, connect on LinkedIn, send personalized messages, and nurture those connections. Building a strong network takes time and effort. #marketing #networking

I help legends in the creative industry land their dream roles ✌🏼 Podcast Host "Creating Her Way" Founder of community "Less Than 10% F#CK That" Advocate for getting more women and mothers into Creative Director roles
Did you know women in creative feel there is an expiry date on their career? 💥 The last few weeks, I have been privileged to have some deep and meaningful conversations with women in creative. From incredible places like Canva, Koto, Hotwire, Havas, Mamamia, M&C Saatchi Group AUNZ. I mean look at this line up of absolute friggen powerhouses. So, let me tell you a little bit about the issue 👉🏼 We’ve heard from some female creatives that they feel like once they hit a certain age, their career in the creative industry slows down or ends. They find they get far less opportunities compared to when they were younger, aren’t considered for very senior roles and that in some instances when looking for new opportunities, employers aren’t as interested in their skills, experience and what they have to offer. Let me tell you businesses can do 👉🏼 The authority gap plays a role here – and if you’re not familiar with it, it’s the gap that measures how much the world takes women less seriously than men. This generally leads to less women in senior and leadership roles, which is what they would expect to be moving into once they hit a certain stage in their career. When you’re recruiting for those top senior positions, ask your recruiter (internal or agency) or your HR team to present the candidates to you without names, photos or anything that’ll bias you towards one candidate or another. In addition, ask them to give you an even split of male and female candidates (when possible) and ensure that the job ad encourages women to apply for the role, even if they don’t meet 100% of the requirements. If you want to learn more about the authority gap, check out these two articles (I have linked them in the comments section below.) 🔥 Challenging the authority gap 🔥 The authority gap between men and women hurts us all If you'd like to share a story, talk about this issue or others that women in creative are facing, I would LOVE to arrange a walk and talk with you 🫶🏼 Less than 10% of creative directors are women - F#CK THAT! #creativenatives #womenincreative #genderequality

"...men often don’t feel welcome to attend women-focused events, especially if the marketing is not inclusive." "Women have had to choose to feel welcome enough to attend [male-dominated] events...It’s time for men to choose to feel welcome at events that feature women." An excellent read, highly recommended, and applicable to any industry event anywhere in the world. Event organizers, in particular, should consider many of these issues when planning and promoting their events. As a woman traversing multiple industries throughout my career, I can think of countless conference activities seemingly designed to attract a very specific male-dominated set of attendees (raise your hand if you've been invited to roll and smoke cigars, taste whiskies, or enter drawings for tickets to a male professional sports event). Is it really that hard for men to actively participate in events where they are not the focus of the event organizers? https://lnkd.in/gYpmZJ9Q

As we wrap up International Women's Month, we're thrilled to shine the spotlight on Artavia Taylor, our talented HR Coordinator. Artavia's dedication and expertise are key in building our diverse and talented team at Klever. She doesn't just keep the hiring process smooth, she also goes above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome and supported. Her passion for fostering an inclusive and empowering work environment is truly inspiring. We all know a great company thrives on the minds it brings together, and Artavia plays an indispensable role in making that happen! Want to get to know Artavia better? We asked her a few questions about her role at Klever - check out her answers below: Q: If you could create a company perk specifically for building a strong team culture, what would it be? A: I think teams thrive when everyone is relaxed and able to have fun outside of work together, so definitely adding a special perk to look forward to quarterly as a team! Whether that be team dinners at an upscale restaurant, a spa day in the office with massage therapists, catered breakfast/lunch, or a designated activity like go-karting. It gives people the opportunity to feel appreciated by the company for their hard work and bond with coworkers in a fun environment. Q: What's the most unexpected talent or hobby you've discovered in an interview candidate? A: A lot of the roles I recruit for are pretty straightforward, so I’d say it’s rare that I delve into the personal hobbies of candidates during an interview. BUT, I love to hear how passionate some candidates are about their creative side when it comes to a more creatively driven role, and it’s so interesting to see different portfolios for Graphic Design and Marketing. Q: At Klever, we're passionate about using programmatic solutions to push the boundaries of digital advertising. What excites you most about working in such a dynamic and innovative field? A: I love that this industry specifically is always rapidly evolving and there’s something to learn for everyone. It keeps you on your toes and is very lively between all of the informational conferences, conventions, and pop-up events in different cities keeping you at the forefront of advertising. Q: Describe your ideal work day in 3 emojis only. A: 🛫🤝🍵 (travel, an offer accepted, and my matcha latte!)
