2 weeks ago I celebrated my 8th anniversary at Anyline
Here are some learning for everyone, who isn't sure if he/she/they is qualified enough for a job or company. My journey so far was quite a roller coaster. From a team of 15 to team of 100, from internship to leading a team. There will be never an easy, linear way within your career - but exactly this makes it exciting.
These are my learnings so far from my 8 years journey:
11.2015 Internship Design & Marketing
It took me 3 weeks to apply for this internship, because I didn't know anything about OCR, SDK, or the software business overall and wasn't sure if I fit.
Learning: If you don’t try, you will never now.
02.2016 Product Designer
After 3 months of internship, the team saw my potential and hired me. It didn’t matter that I didn’t know about our products when I started, but it did matter that I was highly motivated to learn about it and contribute to the companies success.
Learning: A really good leader sees your potential and supports it.
01.2017 Brand Manager
My passion was always in branding and creating awareness. With the culture we have at Anyline I talked to my team lead and I got the possibility to develop myself further.
Learning: There will be no change, if you don’t speak up for yourself.
01.2019 Senior Brand Manager
I started to have a small team of designers and event managers and started to do less design by myself, as I realised my strengths are within other areas.
Learning: Accept your strengths & weakness.
03.2020 VP of Branding Strategy
My contribution was recognised and I got a promotion to VP of Branding Strategy
Learning: Resilience and loyalty will pay off (most of the time)
05.2021 VP of Strategic Partnership
Due to some restructuring a new opportunity was offered to me and I decided to develop in a different direction, by leading our strategic partnerships. In this 12 months I learned so many new things, that I was a bit scared about: like working on 100 pages of legal contracts
Learning: Try new things - the time is never lost as you gain new experience.
07.2022 Head of Awareness Marketing
After 1 year within a new area, I realised my heart still beats for branding and creating awareness. And thankfully there was another door opening within Anyline for my next step.
Learning (all of the above)
- My team lead saw my strength & potential
- I spoke up for myself & addressed my need
- I gained new experience, which helps me in my new role
- I accepted that my strengths lies within branding & awareness

Last week, we celebrated her 8-year Anyline anniversary. And like our company, her role and contributions to our goals have continued to evolve. This is what our own Sophie Kreuzer gets up to in a day, featured in this week's "My Job in 60 Seconds".
Enjoy and join us in celebrating 8 amazing years!
Our employee stories series continues to feature more La Clinica employees and explore who we are, what we love, what drives us, and how we work.
Up this week: Zulma Larios
Meet Zulma Larios, field-based care manager at La Clinica.
Zulma will celebrate her 10-year anniversary with La Clinica this July. From her early days as a patient service representative to her current role, Zulma thinks it is difficult to get bored working here. She appreciates La Clinica's constant movement toward equity, improvement, innovation, and growth and credits her career growth to authentic and powerful mentors.
Cheers to ONE Environmental Managing Principal J. Rusty Field PE who is celebrating his 15-year work anniversary! Back in 2009, Rusty envisioned a customer-centered company that prioritizes lasting, meaningful relationships over the bottom line when he and his partners founded ONE. And the rest is history, as they say. Learn more about Rusty on our blog! https://bit.ly/3yJdDxF
I am thrilled to share our latest company update straight from Jim O'Rourke!

Today marks my 13th Anniversary as a member of The Brydens Group.
I feel privileged to have had the chance to collaborate with influential individuals who have enabled me to forge a fulfilling path while contributing value to the organization.
Reflecting on my journey, if you had asked me at the outset if I envisioned myself in my current role, I would likely have answered affirmatively. I have always been driven and recognized the unique skillset I possess and how it can effectively be utilized.
My philosophy includes volunteering my talents where I believe they can make a difference, regardless of personal gain. This approach has not only opened doors to unforeseen opportunities but also allowed me to display abilities beyond my designated responsibilities.
At Brydens, I have transitioned from Brand Manager to Business Development Manager and now Group Corporate Affairs Manager—a career trajectory that aligns perfectly with my aspirations. Each role has been a learning experience, allowing me to refine my skills and maintain a perpetual sense of excitement.
Ultimately, it boils down to comprehending your value. In essence, if you view yourself as a brand, what principles do you stand for?
My journey highlights the significance of hard work, belief, and being a bit of a dreamer. Defining your identity and ensuring that you consistently deliver on it is paramount.
As I celebrate 13 years with Brydens with great enthusiasm, I hope, in your journey, you too have a narrative of growth and self-discovery, where you have carved out opportunities by recognizing your inherent value.

LinkedIn notified my connections about my 2 year anniversary at Leland, and a very kind customer (pursuing a management consulting role) sent me this note.
I've been thinking about this message a lot today -- it has meant so much. Hearing directly from customers that their lives are changing because of Leland will never not spark instant and deep joy.
Two of the most meaningful cultural values to me at Leland are the following:
🚀 Make Customers Win: Every day we are focused on helping people succeed by connecting them with the right coaches and resources. Achieving their desired outcomes is the driver behind everything we build, host, and deliver.
🎉 Celebrate Stories: We believe everyone has a meaningful story to tell and they deserve to be honored. We celebrate the stories of our customers, our coaches, and our team: where they've been, where they are, and where they're headed.
No matter how big, no matter how small, your exciting news and progression matters. We will always cheer you on along the journey and at each important milestone.
This right here is why we do what we do! 🙏
After 14 years 2 days of marriage, here's my best advice: Find a partner who makes you a better person.
From the beginning of our marriage, Judson's sense of adventure and endless encouragement led me down the most incredible path.
Here's a list of things I would have never done without him in my life:
1. Complete 2 sprint triathlons
2. Overcome my fear of open-water swimming (discovered this while training for #1 😂 )
3. Complete a Century Ride
4. Camp in a tent for more than 1 night
5. Leave my corporate job after 13 years
6. Eat Chick-fil-A more than once a week
7. Jump off a cliff into a waterfall
8. Change thousands of dirty diapers for 3 kids
9. Learn the joy of a good whiteboard session
10. Launch my own business
11. Develop a personal relationship with God
Can't wait to see what we accomplish in the next 14! 😁

Fresh Supply Chain Consulting and Solution Development
I don't typically celebrate the personal aspects of my life publicly but I wanted to say Happy 14th Anniversary to my amazing wife Katie Armentrout (D/E). She is the best partner, adventure buddy, and encourager that I could hope for. Being together on the journey from 2 corporate jobs to being a 2 start-up household has more than its share of ups & downs.
Thank you for your love and support each & every day. I'm excited at the possibilities in front of us!
When I started my career, I wanted to stay in the same company for a really long time (at that time, this meant 15 to 20 years). Because that's what everyone around me seemed to be doing. They joined a company, maybe shifted a couple of times, and then stayed in the same organization till they retired ✅
What I understood later was, though everyone around me was doing this, it was not the norm. After some research (though not very in-dept, I must admit), I found that on an average, people change their jobs every 2 to 5 years 🤷♀️
So very naively, I thought, "Ok, let me also do that. It's what everyone seems to be doing and it's working for them" (I was in my early twenties, so no judgements there 😁)
It took me many years to understand the truth behind it all. The truth being, it is not a mandate to changes companies every 2 or 3 years, nor is it a mandate to spend 20 years of your career in a single organization. There is no mandate (yes, there is no secret ingredient 🐼).
So after many failures, hasty decisions, & short-term thinking I realized, the best way to decide how long to stay in a place is by choosing the option that aligns with your long- term career goals and short-term priorities. Do what's best for you at that moment but without losing focus on your future aspirations 💪
This is what I did when I joined Leadle as a part-time consultant 2 years ago. And if someone invented an affordable way to time travel, I would go back to the "me" 2 years back and profusely thank her, because this is one of the best decisions I have ever made 😎
The last 2 years with Leadle have been nothing short of an adventure. I'm so looking forward to what the next 2 years have in store for me 👀 🚀

The individuals you encounter on your journey often wield a profound influence, and Mike was undoubtedly one of those impactful connections!

3. **Authenticity:** Be yourself and let your true personality shine, as authenticity often leaves a lasting impression.
4. **Express Empathy:** Show understanding and empathy toward others' experiences and perspectives.
5. **Confidence (Not Arrogance):** Display confidence in your abilities without coming across as arrogant. Humility is key.
6. **Mindful Communication:** Choose your words carefully, speak clearly, and be mindful of the impact your words can have on others.
7. **Offer Help:** Extend a helping hand or offer assistance when appropriate. Acts of kindness leave a positive impression.
8. **Memorability:** Share interesting anecdotes or unique aspects about yourself that make you memorable in a positive way.
9. **Sense of Humor:** Appropriately use humor to lighten the mood and create a more relaxed atmosphere.
10. **Respectful Curiosity:** Show genuine curiosity about others, asking thoughtful questions and showing respect for their experiences and opinions.
For work, I traveled 28 times this year.
Looking back on photos, I should have taken way more!
The last trip of the year, a team gathering in Dallas, was an absolute highlight of FY23.
Grateful for the memories and opportunities that were presented and created in 2023.
What was the best work trip you took this year?
