People close to me know that I am a big fan of podcasts and I have to absolutely listen to something when I walk or do the exercises. It helps to keep my brains active and the topics could vary between climate questions, financial forecasts and of course the main one for me would be around #HR – how can we impact the business, bring new contemporary thinking and be more meaningful partners across all our stakeholders. Recently I discovered the new series called Future of HR by JP Elliott and I am happy to recommend it for all HR professionals. Here is one of the latest episode where JP Elliott, PhD talks to Wagner Denuzzo, LCSW (He/Him/His) Denuzzo, Future of Work expert and I loved it as some of the ideas shared are quite unconventional and thought provoking. Let me share just a few of them to give you an idea: - Skill based economy will require us to think differently the way we build the teams, organize their work, reward the outcomes, hire and develop people. We used to think that we can inject a new person with the new skills to solve the problem, while today’s challenges will require us to change the skills and de-construct org capabilities across the existing teams. - Secret sauce of transformation – do it fast, otherwise you can be entangled in too many discussions and get stuck there. The fastest decisions might not be the best one, but well informed and data driven decisions done fast are the best way forward. - Empathy is one of the most critical quality for a leader and we should remember that we never know what impacts people’s life in the current moment. - We cannot change people’s behaviors. You can help to build awareness but the need for the change should come from inside. Culture is not a program - it is an outcome of our everyday interactions, it is embedded in everything we do. - Investment in the leadership development should start at the early stage of careers. Leadership skills are not reserved for leadership positions. Most people will benefit from learning it early to be a better colleague, team member or just to be better at self-management. By democratizing a role of leader we could create a better environment, more transparent conversations and more motivated workforce. And my favorite one is … Clarity creates capacity. People who are clear about where the company is going, clear about strategic priorities of the organization, clear about the North star… those people thrive in the workspace! Was there anything that resonated with you? #hrcommunity #talentmanagement #futureofhr
How does clarity create capacity in organizations? Why is the future of work about clarity, capabilities, and connections? In this week's Future of HR Podcast, I had the pleasure of speaking with Wagner Denuzzo, LCSW (He/Him/His), Future of Work expert, executive coach, and HR start-up advisor Wagner is an innovative leader who challenges the status quo and this conversation will definitely challenge and inspire you to think differently... During our conversation Wagner and I discuss: - Why he believes the future of work is about culture and connection, not programs and policies - Why he believes HR is becoming more of a business driver and less of a support function - His perspective on the promise and challenge of becoming a skills based organization - Why organizations need to invest in the leadership skills of their early career talent - Why teams, not individuals are the new unit of value creation for organizations To listen or learn more about the Future of HR Podcast, check out the comments 👇 #HR #FutureofWork #FutureofHR
