Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, Inc.’s Post

We proudly co-sponsored the 2nd annual JOLT (Just Organization Leading Transition) conference held in Montrose, Colo. on June 27-28. Their important mission is to advocate for, communicate with and educate coal-impacted communities on transition efforts, while promoting an all of the above energy mix. Travis Sondrol, our Craig Station Plant Manager, participated in a geothermal panel, along with other energy leaders. He discussed the retirement of Craig Station between 2025 and 2028, and the continuing need for dispatchable resources (which are resources that can be turned on or turned up as needed), including geothermal resources, that help keep power stable, reliable and affordable.

Thank you, Travis, for your leadership of our team at Craig Station and for being a champion of reliability for our members.

Having experienced a 2.5 hour outage last evening here in NoCo coop-territory and just before this anticipated heatwave reminds me that reliability from the power source to the light switch is absolutely paramount.
