Welcome Jane Yau to this year’s Boston Marathon #TeamTrinity! Jane is an ultramarathoner who will be joining us from New York. She has always been a passionate supporter of education and youth empowerment. When researching charity partners, TBC’s mission resonated with her, and she knew immediately that she wanted to run on behalf of Team Trinity. Jane has a similar life mission, providing a safe and nurturing environment for young people. Jane says, “Running the 2024 Boston Marathon for Team Trinity Boston is not merely a physical endeavor, but also a gesture of solidarity with the organization’s mission to empower youth and build a better future for our community.” We are incredibly lucky to have Jane on Team Trinity! Jane recently completed the Tokyo Marathon and Boston will be her 6th major marathon. Today we launch an International Due Diligence survey with BWF and Pyro.Solutions. Due diligence is an important (and growing) responsibility for prospect development teams. But organisations often approach it differently, with some focusing on it at the start, and others at the end. This survey will help to develop some benchmarks. If you’re a nonprofit, university, school, college, or charity of any size, we’d appreciate 10 minutes of your time to complete the survey here: https://lnkd.in/eJt4Dsjz Please also share it with your network to help more organisations contribute 🙌 Look forward to sharing the results in due course! #philanthropy #nonprofitsupport #highereducation #xapienthem

Hi friends! I'm sure you all know that I'm passionate about supporting the non-profits in our county that do amazing work every day to support our community. So...what are you doing this coming Monday evening, September 16? Your answer could be "watching the AFPSLO County screening of the film Uncharitable at the Palm Theater in SLO"! Seriously, if you have any involvement with non-profits, this is a film you don't want to miss. And your ticket supports the work of our local chapter of Association of Fundraising Professionals, which supports all of our county's non-profit fundraisers. I do hope to see you there - get your tickets now! https://lnkd.in/gK3veibz Watch the trailer here: https://lnkd.in/gCZ8Gq_8 About the film: What if charity could be transformed from a gesture to an answer--to solving the world's greatest problems? What if everything we've been taught about charitable giving is wrong? What if it's undermining the very causes, we love the most? Uncharitable is a one-of-a-kind movie that shows how our charitable traditions and prejudices have suffocated the charitable sector and prevented it from leading the charge to truly change the world. Based on the book, "Uncharitable," by Dan Pallotta, which became one of the most talked-about TED talks of all time--changing everything from charity watchdog standards to the giving practices of America's biggest foundations.
Don’t miss AFP SLO’s screening of Uncharitable next Monday! This powerful documentary turns everything you think you know about the nonprofit sector upside down, showing how outdated rules are holding nonprofits back from reaching their full potential. It challenges us to rethink how we support causes we care about, revealing how organizations could have an even bigger impact if they were allowed to operate like businesses. Whether you're involved in nonprofit work or want to understand how we can create real change, this film will inspire and ignite a new perspective on how we can truly do good. Every board member, donor, philanthropist, volunteer in our county will be inspired. Date: September 16 Time: 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. (Will be followed by a brief optional discussion) Place: Palm Theater Tickets: $20 (sponsorship opportunities are available) https://lnkd.in/gK3veibz

Global Speaker, Tech Columnist, and Startup Marketing Advisor | Transforming Startups into Businesses
I have something very personal to share that I’ve never shared publicly before. After Ari was murdered, we sat Shiva per the Jewish custom for mourning. But because Yom Kippur was the next day, instead of sitting seven days, we sat for one and a half days. The truth is, I don’t remember anything from those days. Many people have told me they were there. I blocked it all. But one thing I remember vividly is that I was walking into my parents’ house where we were sitting and I saw a familiar face get out of his car. Now, mind you, like I said, it was the day before Yom Kippur and we were sitting shiva in Jerusalem so I really didn’t have any expectations of people from the tech world coming. But somehow I’ll never forget seeing my good friend Ron Levy coming to comfort me. It meant so much. I’ve known Ron for many years and have watched his professional journey closely. He’s a classic example of good things happening to good people. So when Ron told me he’s working on a new startup, I knew I had to hear more. And when he told me that the new startup is very relevant to the war effort and makes giving charity a much more streamlined experience, I was really excited to hear about it! Ron and his co-founder Dan Pesso Eblagon have built Bono - the easiest, most impactful, and most transparent giving experience, focused on fixing the challenges Israel and the Jewish world are facing. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been finding it super hard to direct my friends to a single place to donate to, especially during this period. I get hundreds of messages a day from people asking where to give and what would be most impactful. The whole world of giving is super fragmented, which makes it an annoying process. With Bono, instead of choosing one nonprofit to donate to, and not knowing what your money is doing, you choose categories to fix, get your personal portfolio of the best nonprofits in each category, and get weekly impact reports on your giving. A single donation to multiple nonprofits that have already been vetted by their team. Here is my personal portfolio, join me to build yours: https://lnkd.in/ebYn_Rvc The causes I chose are Bring them Home, fight antisemitism, and help displaced families. You can see my portfolio below and I’d strongly recommend you creating your own so people know what’s important to you if they want to give in your honor or make their own Bono page. Good luck, Ron and Dan. I love this idea and I hope you achieve the outcome of doing well by doing good!
I joined Bono’s #MassFixing, check out my pledge and build yours

A survey by the United Nations has found that 67% of people believe in a better future, with 15 to 17 year-olds being the most optimistic about this. This International Youth Day 2024 (12 August) we're joining in the celebration of the power of youth and digital innovation, so young minds are harnessing technology to create sustainable solutions for our world's most pressing challenges. At a time when half of the people on our planet are 30 or younger, and this is expected to reach 57% by the end of 2030 - there has never been a greater need to invest and empower the next generation.
