I am proud to share the official magazine on the European RCE Meeting of 2023 I coordinated and designed with the precious help of the participating Regional Center of Expertise this last month. The magazine is the collection of the vital knowledge shared during the meeting, focused on the topic of Transformative Education for Sustainable Regions. Working on this project allowed me to gain a deeper understanding on the important role of Transformative Education and Education for Sustainable Development as key players in the creation of solutions to face the challenges of the 21st century. Transformative education can transform people, who in turn can work on transforming societies as a way of building a better future and in order to act upon the betterment of people and planet. Dive into the magazine for deeper insights into this important subject for our ever-evolving global landscape.🌍📚🌱
📣 Official Release: The European RCE Meeting Magazine 2023! We are honoured to present the second EU RCE Magazine, about "Transformative Education for Sustainable Regions". The magazine is co-created by all participating Regional Centres of Expertise (RCEs) that contributed to the European meeting. The meeting was organised by RCE Basque Country Navarre and SPARK RCE Fryslan in October this year. The realisation of the magazine was meticulously coordinated and designed by communication intern Chiara Ravelli (SPARK RCE Fryslan) encapsulating the invaluable insights and knowledge shared during the meeting. We would like to convey our sincere appreciation to all the collaborators, contributors, and every individual who played an instrumental role in bringing this initiative to fruition. Your commitment for promoting education for sustainable development is indispensable. Special thanks to Samuel Fernandez Diekert, Betsy King, Salim Lardjane, Maximilian Eisenbart, Aukje Sina Zijlstra and Heleentje Swart for your collective energy and effort! We invite you to disseminate this magazine within your respective networks. By doing so, we can further the dialogue on transformative education and its significance in building sustainable regions. #RCEnetwork #transformativeeducation #SustainableRegions

🇨🇦 I'm really lucky to be back in Canada with my colleagues Ciara McNally and James Teskey for the Colleges and Institutes Canada | Collèges et instituts Canada CICan Conference 2024, being held in Calgary, Alberta. If you're at the conference then stop by The Ambassador Platform's booth (bright orange, stocked with rubber ducks, right next to the entrance of the exhibition hall) to find out why doubling down on the student voice should form part of your response to uncertain and challenging market conditions. Peer-to-peer connections, in addition to being nice/lovely/cool, also offer a powerful messaging antidote to a less welcoming regulatory narrative, and help to ensure that future students continue to positively choose your institution amidst the noise of increased competition. These connections work because young people rarely look ahead guided by the nomenclature of study permits and provincial allocations (crucial as those things are to us as professionals in the sector); they think instead about the experience they are going to have, the things they are going to learn, the friends they might make, and the opportunities that come afterwards. Connecting future students with current students ensures that, whatever today's policy machinations might be, they continue to feel excited, welcomed, and engaged. Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), one of the CICan host institutions, and one of our lovely partners do some amazing stuff with our platform. Take a look at how Brian Scriver and his brilliant team have mastered peer-to-peer here: https://lnkd.in/dr-GNxtN #CICan #GrowingTalent #highereducation #internationaleducation #intled #peertopeer #studentvoice

Microcredentials in a European context -also for Hogeschool Saxion-. A development that can be exchanged a lot about. So also the past week at Fachhochschule St Pölten visiting their international week. https://lnkd.in/gcGFJasp Interesting discussions and inspiring examples discussed including the partners of E³UDRES² European University Alliance. Nice challenges ahead to use microcredentials within the alliance, among other things, for lifelong development. #stPölten #Eudres #microcredentials

Attending a higher studies abroad class at Accea was an enlightening experience. The agency's knowledgeable advisors provided comprehensive insights into various international programs, admission processes, and scholarship opportunities. The interactive session covered crucial aspects such as choosing the right university, preparing for standardized tests, and crafting a compelling application. The personalized guidance I received gave me confidence and a clearer roadmap for my academic journey abroad. Overall, Accea's class not only demystified the complex application procedure but also fueled my excitement for pursuing higher education overseas. #studyabroad #highereducation #germanlanguage

It's an honour to receive an award from Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada and the Canadian Association for Studies in Co-operation.I presented my research, Decolonizing Fair Trade: A Movement with a Movement at the Canadian Association for Studies in Co-operation in Montreal last week. I met an amazing and responsible group of scholars and practitioners who are passionate about coopertives and social impact. My research is about the marketing of fair trade and the hidden messages within the fair trade market that are nonconsenual to makers and artisans in the majority world. There is a small movement on social media and amongst some fair trade brands about decolonizing the messaging. Brands are working with an equity advisor to decolonize and understand reconciliation. I am impressed by this movement and wanted to do more research about what is happening. I ask critical questions such as: how do we hold fair trade and coopertive businesses, advocates, etc accountable to the SDG's, fair trade principles, and coopertive principles? If you want to learn more I'm happy to share! #PhD #PhDCandidate #FairTrade #Cooperatives #SocialImpact

Professor Information Technology, Director of Micro-Credential Strategy and Innovation and Head of DCU Studio, Senior Research Fellow NODL
Good engagment with Eucor – The European Campus alliance members today, as I presented Dublin City University DCU Micro-credentials journey and the ECIU micro-credential mission. What struck me the most about our discussion was the evolution in the understanding and the realisation that short form and continuous learning is still challenging and multi-faceted for institutions who are adept at long-form provision...#micro-credentials #learningtransitions
