How RIVEON operates grid balancing with data centers Maintaining a balance between power generation and consumption is essential for the stability and reliability of electrical grids, where the amount of electricity generated matches the demand from consumers. This ensures that the frequency of the grid remains stable at its nominal value (50 Hz or 60 Hz). Depending on excess production or consumption, the grid frequency can increase or decrease. These deviations can have significant consequences such as equipment damage, power outages and disruptions to the grid. To swiftly counteract these fluctuations, Frequency Containment Reserve (FCR) is deployed, which adjusts electricity generation or consumption to stabilize and maintain the grid frequency. When the frequency drops due to an excessive load on the grid and insufficient power generation, our data centers can disconnect from the grid. This alleviates the strain on the power grid, supporting a return of the frequency to its nominal value. Frequency Containment Reserves (FCR) will continue to become increasingly significant, especially given the increasing utilization of volatile renewable energy sources. Leveraging our data centers, we are able to respond promptly to such fluctuations, thereby consistently ensuring grid stability. Would you like to support us and be part of our success story? Then find out more about career opportunities at RIVEON and apply today! #RIVEON #GridBalancing #Sustainability #Energymanagement

Evolve is focused on leading the data center energy transition evolution. The rising demand for edge computing capacity and data centers is taxing the current infrastructure. The current utility transmission infrastructure is a significant obstacle to converting U.S. Data Centers to renewable energy sources. The main problems include outdated power lines and delays in planning, permitting, and supply chain bottlenecks. According to Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), upgrading existing transmission lines could take up to three years due to regulatory obstacles that are massively time-consuming and require multi-million dollar capital expenditures. Evovle's GeneFIT In-Line Turboexpander solution converts wasted pressure energy into clean electric power to power our Modular Data Centers.
