Despite our very best efforts yesterday, we closed Thursday night. 18th of January, 2024, with 19 people over 6 homes who remained in need.. Today, Friday, the 19th of January, 2024, we started the day with a regular donation of £5, and we added £39 of local funds to it and resolved a single home, and we added a further £300 of local funds, With this we resolved a further 5 homes at a spend of £210, leaving us £90 in the pot. As an explanation, remember that when we top-up #prepaymentmeters (#PPMs) they often have a debt on them being collected at a rate of between £2.00 & £21 per week, and in some cases, people have debt on both their #Gas & #Energy Meters, they also take the standing charge and any "Friendly Credit" uses overnight/Sundays or Bank holidays and finally also take "Emergency Credit used" https://lnkd.in/eUfNHxSK https://lnkd.in/e39UiGtB It is not just about tariffs, it is about energy efficiency as well. Just today, we have received 12 valid claims; the numbers have been higher because of the cold spell and the increase in fuel costs since the first of January.. Of these using the £90 in the pot and a further £36, we have resolved 3, and at the current time, 13:30hrs on Friday, 19th January 2024, we have nine homes in need, that is 28 people without energy

This morning we have added £250 of local funds to the £715, that we had available from the 23rd December, so have £965 available. Our benefactor paid to resolve 16 homes on the 24th, spending £656 and we had donated us, Qty 25, £25 food boxes £625, and on the 25th our benefactor resolved 3 homes £117 and finally yesterday they resolved 7 homes spending £287.. I have to thank the #Sikh communities of Nottingham and Derby for the food boxes This morning Wednesday, the 27th of December 2023, we have already had 11 referrals (bust due to the end of friendly credit) , all of which have been resolved, and as of 10:30hrs, we have spent £451 and have £514 in the pot remaining.

‼️ DONATE TODAY TO SUPPORT OUR WORK ‼️ After almost 6 years of operations, Deadly Connections Community & Justice Services still doesn't receive ongoing Federal Govt Funding for the work we do. We have to continue to source and fight for funding to continue our work. Donations is what keeps us going and provides us with the resources required to support mob. Many ACCO's face the same challenges, the need and demand for our services far outweigh our resources. We are often competing for funding against big orgs with extensive infrastructure which means we miss out on funds meant to be directed into our communities. ACCO's are First Nations led so any investment you make goes directly back into our communities who need support. This is just another way to show up for mob, today and beyond. ##alwayswasalwayswillbe #dayofmourning #invasionday #survivalday #racismendswithme #investincommunities #donate #supportourwork #abolishthedate #carenotcages #culturenotpunishment #transformativejustice #abolition #reform #paytherent

In my talks with Pendaeli Amos we discussed the financial situation and the things we can do for his community. They are not used to set aside donation money for daily operations for the long term, because it is giving for a personal subject of interest. When I supported the tree project this spring, I said he could set aside a part for a rainy day, but all the money went to trees. This because he wanted to plant a lot of trees and he did, but didn't looked far in the future. This is common in his culture and we respect that, so we wanted to make a way to solve this and made this project on #GlobalGiving. So this unrestricted donation gives more space to help for operational growht. Summary of the project: "Maybe a bit strange, but with all projects, we need funds to do basic things for our organisation to operate on a daily basis. From the website to some fuel for the car or new laptop, or a meeting with farmers to start a new project. Not all donors like to label their funds to one topic, so with this project, you can donate and we may decide what is used for emergency on projects, for daily operations or for savings for next years to come." Especially for corporate donations a good option. 😃 https://lnkd.in/evBiNDKn

Is BJP using ED, CBI and IT departments to extort political donations from business houses? Below are four pieces of information that might help you make up your mind. 1. At least 30 companies, which donated a total of nearly Rs 335 crore to the BJP between financial years 2018-19 and 2022-23, also faced action by central agencies during that period. 2. Of these firms, 23 companies, which gave a total of Rs 187.58 crore to the party during this period, had never donated any amount to the BJP between 2014 and the year of the raid. 3. At least four of these companies donated a total of Rs 9.05 crore within four months of the central agency visit. 4. Six other firms, which had donated to the BJP each year before, faced central action after they skipped donations in one financial year.
