$30 / month / user for Microsoft's AI Co-Pilot. Good deal or bad? My opinion. This is a good deal if it can deliver the productivity improvements that Microsoft claims. I have had a lot of discussions over the past month on the value of AI tools and this has come up. Some folks think it is way too expensive, others like me think this is reasonable or even underpriced. Organizations see a huge lift when they move to services like Google Suite or Office365 and adding in AI tools such as Copilot that can allow you to index everything without having to be a master organizer is priceless. Looking back at my career, the amount of time spent (when I was leading #partnerships at YP to customer interaction as #president of Mediative to interacting with all my fellow #banking partners while building Ampli - all these roles relied heavily on communication, collaboration, and information mining to make decisions. At $30/month, across these roles or any role I have had in the past would pay for itself in the first hours of the month. Google will have their version for their Suite as will most companies who offer a suite of tools to enable a workforce. According to Amy Hood, CFO of Microsoft, "that its suite of generative artificial intelligence tools will reach $10 billion in revenue faster than any other business in the software business’s history."
