When you see this headline, the last reaction we want you to have is dread. Or panic. Having to wonder whether or not your ingredients were impacted. Or if you have the documentation to support the approval or rejection of affected lots. According to Reuters, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India inspected 4,054 samples between May and early July. 454 of those failed to meet food quality and safety standards. If you haven’t seen the full story yet, you can access the details here: https://lnkd.in/eK-QcyqE But the best defense against supply chain issues is a solid offense. And by that we mean proactive processes, standardized documentation, nonconformance tracking and management, and so much more. At TraceGains, we’re here to help you uphold standards and protect public health. #SupplyChain #FoodSafety #Quality #Spices

Based on hard data, this article shows that undernutition results from the quality of food the Indian poor gets today - but it may be a problem of quantity too by 2047. @CarnegieEndow @KingsIndiaInst @CERI_SciencesPo FAO

The $67 million instant noodle recall: Back in 2015, a popular snack food in India faced a major controversy when tests revealed high levels of lead in the product. This led to a nationwide recall, causing significant damage to the company's reputation and finances. The recall process was a huge logistical challenge, involving the retrieval, testing, and disposal of millions of packets of instant noodles. Not only was it time-consuming, but it was also costly, with the total expenses reaching around $67 million. Aside from the financial losses, the company also suffered severe damage to its brand image. Consumers felt betrayed and their trust in the brand was shaken. As a result, the company's stock price dropped and its market share declined. To find out how they recovered from this recall and to read other food safety case studies, check out our blog post: https://lnkd.in/ef5ivDH7 #foodsafety #recalls #supplychain #inventorymanagement #qualityassurance

Unless until there is a consensus between all State FDAs & FSSAI, like in GST, for doing surveillance of 100% FBOs once in a year, at least, the Opportunists will keep taking advantage of this loose shunting amongst the State Administrations Vs Central Administration! 100% Monitoring is the only solution!
There have been many concerning reports on food products in the country, over the last few weeks. Much of the information has been represented out of context, leading to a high degree of confusion for most consumers. My attempt at representing facts.
