Mattia, a business major at LSUA, has secured an internship with Louisiana Central under Britni Lilley's guidance. By applying the skills and knowledge he has gained from his classes, he is confidently tackling real-world business challenges. Friday was a whirlwind of a day for me, but one highlight I want to share was BECU's Intern Lunch and Learn. I had the opportunity to speak to our summer interns about how to effectively use LinkedIn as a job seeker. We walked through how to build your profile, how to effectively network, how to contact relevant people about open jobs, and how to optimize job searches. It was different from my typical webinars and work responsibilities, but was a great demonstration of ways that companies can invest in their employees. Having a lunch and learn at the end of the internship term to help set them up for future success in landing a quality job was really cool. I hadn't heard about anything like this before I joined BECU, but definitely think this should be a standard practice if you regularly employ interns. Kudos to BECU.
