A powerful message and mission for sure.
Most of us became advocates because of our own life experience and the trauma we and our children suffered. Too many of us have not survived. Either we took our own life, or we were bankrupted and broken by this brutal system. Then there are those of us who survived and became advocates to one degree or another. Many consider themselves to be advocates because they vent (being polite), complain, post, and repost on social media. Many waller in their self-pity, blame their ex, the corrupt system, and gender bias. But, in my opinion, they aren’t advocates. (As if anyone cares what I think.) Many more are hopefully in some stage of healing and we all heal in different ways. Counseling, therapy, coaching, prayer, forgiveness, and meditation to name a few. Others write a book, dive into their work, find a new love, or try to help others. Many advocate. A few lead, many others follow, most do nothing but post. Personally, I’m frustrated with the echo system, preaching to the choir, and not having the impact that is needed. I’m tired of people b*tching and complaining but doing nothing about it. Said another way, I’m tired of the insanity, doing the same thing expecting different results. At least for me, I’m going to change the story, the narrative, and the game to get some sh*t done. I founded Colorado Resilience with the express purpose of making a difference. I can’t do this alone, and I welcome all those who can and will help to join me on this journey. Go to ColoradoReilience.org to learn more, register for our emails, and help change these God-awful systems once and for all. So often, daughters and sons blame themselves for the unknown tragedies in their parents' childhoods. Often without awareness, they seek to transform their parent's sadness by seeking means of achievement or "self-improvement." Getting oriented to pleasing others can become a way of life, not because it's an attempt at being self-destructive, rather quite the opposite, it's an attempt at being self-sustaining. Generally its gains are short-lived while the pursuit to please and/or impress lives on. https://lnkd.in/gpxQX5jB

YOU NEED A SAFE SPACE... Yes, you read that right – you need a safe space. Sarah, a resilient individual who endured the hardships of a turbulent past marred by abuse. For years, she bore the weight of her experiences in silence, afraid to share her pain. But then, she found solace in a safe space. There, she embarked on a journey of healing, reclaiming her sense of self-worth. Safe spaces aren't optional for victims/survivors, they're vital. It's a supportive and inclusive environment where individuals can freely express themselves, share their stories, and seek support without the fear of judgment, discrimination, or harm. Whether it comes as a physical location or an online forum, the essence remains the same: fostering trust, empathy, and understanding. A safe space becomes a crucial support system, a beacon of hope. They serve as sanctuaries where healing begins, stories find voices, and support flows freely, devoid of judgment or fear. Let's recognize the power of safe spaces in empowering individuals to heal, connect, and thrive. Together, let's create environments where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. #SafeSpaces #Empowerment #Healing #Support #Inclusivity #abuserecovery #abusesurvivor #abuse #healingjourney

President Sikeston Missouri American Slaves, Inc. National executive council. media, marketing, entertainment,, chairman.
UNHEALTHY VIOLENT BEHAVIORS: It is important to raise the awareness of descendants of American slaves towards our unhealthy violent behaviors to prevent the young generations from copying them and propagating an increasingly violent society. With all the recent exposure to violence, which has become commonplace in slave neighborhoods, it is becoming increasingly common for descendants of American slaves' offspring to be at risk of developing PTSD, especially those that have witnessed or been a victim of a traumatic event and, most, if not all slaves have been exposed to violence. Therefore, most of us will experience some form of PTSD, which is so often ignored or misdiagnosed for other things. To Learn More Read: 400 Years of Slavery www.Slaves-USA.com
