Over a span of 35 days during a recent overhaul shutdown at ADANI’s Raikheda Thermal Power Station #685MW (Doosan Korea), we diligently evaluated a total of 850 essential and critical spare parts, ranging in size from 20mm to 5 meters. These spares span across various departments including CHP, AHP, TMD, BMD, EMD, and BOP. 11kV to 33kV Medium Voltage Line Conversion With replacing Substations in Koggala Zone. Replaced 33kV Substations by checking phase sequence with LT phase sequence meter.

Recently shared my views in TRAFOTECH … key line was “ TRANSFORMER NEED TRANSFORMATION”. There is need to review transformer standard and specification as now it is time for smart machines in smart network . Specially DT cannot be simply a passive devise, specially when ministry of power is emphasising a lot in smart metering of DT and feeders. I proposed Smart Meter on DT is must and rather than retrofitting CT, box and meter, it should be standard part of DT. Regarding further improvements , I shared my utility experience and proposed to review few basic things eg high voltage causing accident Vs DT rating of 11kv/ 433V, or like car , transformer should have oil gauze with display/ alert mechanism or k factor specially when harmonics content are going up. In fact ensuring center of gravity (CG) of pole mounted DT is must else they may topple during storm. It raise a basic question can plinth mounted and pole mounted can have same construction. I believe for continual improvement user feedback is must. As a utility professional , as a user, I shared my view with an expectation that it will help to improve performance further.

CG Power & Industrial Solutions Ltd (CG) has reported a 22 per cent year-on-year growth in is new order inflow in Q2 (July to September) of FY24. In a release, CG said that during Q2 of FY24, the new order inflow, at Rs.2232 crore, was 22 per cent higher than the comparable level in FY23. As of September 30, 2023, the outstanding order book position stood at Rs.5,229 crore that was 44 per cent higher than the corresponding level in FY23. A pneumatic update - teams continue moving forward to remove or retrofit natural gas powered pneumatics across a number of operating areas. I've been getting feedback on the field personnel working implementation - all credit goes to them. For those following, I offer the following observations: 1. Supply chains remain a critical component - while solutions are more widely available, optimal solutions may still take time to arrive. I suspect OOOOb will increase this pressure 2. The final 20% of the devices in an area will take a disproportional amount of effort. 3. Communication with field, checking and adjusting, particularly around 1 and 2 above is necessary to keep moving forward. When I look back toward the first of the year, and our plans, most of our reduction happened in areas I didn't anticipate, with solutions different than anticipated. 4. Coming into the second half of the year, we continue with a sense of urgency, because work we do today lowers our emissions today, and decreases our work in the future. #methane #ghg #team
