During my deputation (Sep-Nov) at Reliance Industries Ltd, Jamnagar I was part of the Mega-Shutdown of world's largest FCC (Fluidized Catalytic Cracker) plant. With a huge team of several workmen and engineers, me and my colleague Vishwa Joshi were responsible for maintenance, overhauling and testing of Power and Distribution transformers available at PRU-I & PRU-II unit. We had to evaluate various factors such as the urgency of repairs, the availability of equipment, resources, machinery and manpower, and the impact on overall operations. By carefully analyzing these aspects, we were able to make sound decisions under the guidance of Mr. Bharat Sheth & Mr. Jai Mehta that kept the project on track and minimized any potential failures. Overall, the independence of leading a team for the first time and managing the shutdown added an exciting dimension to the project. It allowed me to showcase my ability to think critically, weigh options, and make informed choices under pressure. Miracles keep happening again and again 😊😊 Imagine a plant which was under prolonged shutdown of 8-9 years. No power were available. Unit was restored with lots of efforts. Unit achieved full load and guess what next? Only few auto loops got commissioned and Hercules task was to conduct COD. Even DSM system was not available. Unit synchronised and 72Hrs full load trial run started within ten days of full load achievement and in one shot COD completed. No extra time or block taken as there was no interruptions happened in load . This achievement is one of the rarest one. Meticulous planning and strategy keeps things so simple. This is the story of JPL shirpur Unit#2 . Team JPL keep it up 👍👍. This reminds me the story of JPL Tamnar 4x600MW where Unit was synchronised in just less than seventeen months.
