This was a well moderated discussion with varying view points shared. Some notable points where 1) We need more incentive for collection systems and behaviour change towards segregation and not so much recycling. 2) Technology for recycling is the easier part, getting clean segregated feedstock for recycling is a big challenge. 3) Recycled materials should not have to compete on pricing with virgin polymer. 4) Indore model has been difficult to replicate but has to be. 5) Governance frameworks need to improve a lot 6) Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) has a lot to improve still. Do keep engaged in the discussion. #wastemanagement #recycling #extendedproducerresponsibility #swachhbharat

#WatchNow 🎙Mobashshir Nasim, Manager, Safety, Health and Environment, Marico Limited, and Advisory Committee member, India Plastics Pact talks about benefits of being a signatory of the Pact. ♻The India Plastics Pact supports its signatories in their actions to enable the transition to a circular plastics economy. 🍶Designing packaging for enhanced recyclability is a key element to achieving this transition. The Pact has launched design guides to help stakeholders across the plastics value chain improve their packaging recyclability. 🔹Design guidance recommendations for food contact grade PET bottles (https://lnkd.in/dmqEvVka) 🔹Design guidance recommendations: rigid packaging (https://lnkd.in/diFHG2Xf) 🔹Design guidance recommendations for non-food contact grade HDPE bottles (https://lnkd.in/dfUsWrwS) 🎯Incorporating these recommendations could help achieve EPR targets, improve packaging recyclability, and improve collection and recycling of packaging waste. 🌐Visit www.indiaplasticspact.org for more information. 🤝The India Plastics Pact is a business-led platform for stakeholders across the plastics value chain, aiming to create a circular economy for plastic packaging in India. #IndiaPlasticsPact #CircularEconomy #TimeToActIsNow #TogetherWeCan Confederation of Indian Industry | CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development | WRAP
