I had someone who is leaving the military ask for some advice last week, and I thought I would share it with LinkedIn as well: We have only one precious life. Let us not merely exist but truly live and unleash our greatness. Pursue what ignites your soul. Love fearlessly. Find joy. Live with passion and purpose. Make your mark on the universe. Give more than you take. Ultimately, we all leave this Earth, and our impact on our loved ones, friends, colleagues, communities, countries, and the world remains. If we aren’t striving for something greater than ourselves, we will have squandered our time here. Our greatness is measured by the positive impact we leave behind. The knowledge that we leave this Earth better than we found is perhaps the immortality we all seek. We should create a legacy of kindness, innovation, and resilience. This legacy isn’t built through bullet points on a resume but through the lives we touch and the changes we inspire. That, to me, is success. What do you think? I would love to hear your feedback. I was talking with a friend this weekend who is a Police Officer, and we also tend to overlook their service as well.
