Congratulations to Olly Glover, our newly elected MP for Didcot and Wantage and champion for meaningful action on climate change. We are grateful to have been able to discuss our two transformative technologies during his recent visit to Tokamak Energy and for Olly to be representing us in #Westminster. He joined David Kingham for a walk around our record-breaking spherical tokamak, ST40, and heard about the huge impact clean, secure and affordable #fusionenergy could have on building a #netzero future. The team also discussed our pioneering high temperature superconducting (HTS) magnets and the opportunity to disrupt existing and create new markets over the next decade, including renewable energy, science and propulsion in water, land, air and space. #GeneralElection2024 #FusionforAll

HOCLOOP partners gathered in Paris for a workshop with emphasis on study the simulation, pre-feasibility, and pre-design of the #HOCLOOP concept with alternative heat-transfer fluids in different geological settings from potential pilot sites across Europe. We had two days of exciting presentations and discussions, with an enthusiastic atmosphere within the whole team. We would like to thank all speakers and our partners at IFP Energies nouvelles for hosting this excellent event. The #HOCLOOP project aims to verify a new #geothermal energy extraction solution based on a closed loop system, suitable for deep or shallow formations, with or without hydrothermal reservoirs. This solution is expected to significantly increase the exploitation of geothermal resources by designing a geothermal heat exchanger that can deliver stable and cost-efficient energy for district heating/cooling and power generation. Increasing the use of geothermal resources will strongly contribute to achieving the goals of secure and sustainable supply of energy, and reducing CO2 emissions, in line with the plans from the EU to become carbon neutral by 2050. #carbonneutral #geothermalenergy #co2reduction #horizoneurope #research #climateaction #energy #sustainability

🚢 Amogy and Yanmar are teaming up to pioneer ammonia-to-hydrogen integration for marine power generation! ⚓️ Amogy, a U.S.-based provider of ammonia-to-power solutions, and Yanmar, a leading Japanese engine manufacturer, have signed an MoU to integrate Amogy’s cutting-edge ammonia-cracking technology into Yanmar’s hydrogen internal combustion engines (H2ICE). This partnership, initiated in 2023 with YANMAR VENTURES investment in Amogy, aims to create low-cost hydrogen fuel by breaking down ammonia into hydrogen and nitrogen using advanced catalyst materials. This process operates at lower temperatures with high durability, minimizing maintenance needs. According to Ken Kawabe, Group Leader at Yanmar Research and Development Center: "We are excited to work with Amogy on this innovative project. Our commitment to a sustainable future aligns perfectly with this collaboration, and we believe that integrating Amogy’s ammonia-cracking technology with our H2ICE has immense potential for decarbonizing marine power." Seonghoon Woo, CEO of Amogy, emphasized: “As pioneers in sustainable energy solutions, we are thrilled to collaborate with Yanmar in exploring the integration of our cutting-edge ammonia-cracking technology with their hydrogen internal combustion engines. Together, we can expedite sustainable progress in the marine sector.” By combining Amogy’s technology with Yanmar’s engines, they’re paving the way for a comprehensive clean energy solution in maritime applications, crucial for decarbonizing marine power generation. Let's sail towards a cleaner future! 🌊 🌅 #CleanEnergy #SustainableFuture #AmmoniaToHydrogen #MarinePower #GreenTechnology https://lnkd.in/dFxrH_JM

I had the privilege of talking with CSIRO's newly appointed CEO, Dr. Doug Hilton AO and CLT planning committee, and it was a truly inspiring and informative conversation. We discussed a groundbreaking idea that has the potential to revolutionize the world of renewable energy and hydrogen technology: Underground Hydrogen Storage. Hydrogen is often hailed as the energy carrier of the future, holding great promise as a clean and sustainable alternative to fossil fuels. However, one of the critical challenges in realizing this potential is finding efficient and safe ways to store and transport hydrogen. This is where the concept of Underground Hydrogen Storage comes into play. I am thrilled to have discussed this innovative concept with Dr. Doug Hilton, who brings a wealth of experience and expertise to CSIRO. His leadership and vision can drive CSIRO's role in advancing Underground Hydrogen Storage as a transformative technology for a sustainable future. I'm looking forward to the incredible possibilities that may arise from this discussion and to see CSIRO's continued commitment to research and innovation in the realm of hydrogen technology. Together, we can make a significant impact on the global energy landscape. #HydrogenStorage #CleanEnergy #Innovation #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability #CSIRO #UndergroundStorage #HydrogenTechnology
