Green Cargo has recently launched a new service which connects Malmö to Rheinkamp (DE) and then onward to the rest of Europe, including Austria, Belgium, France, Hungary, Italy, Slovenia, Spain, and Turkey. While the company uses its new Vectron locomotives to transport your goods to Germany, its partners Rail Cargo Group, FORWARDIS, and Captrain take care of the rest of the journey. 🚆
The service’s initial frequency is three round trips per week but could potentially be increased to five or six round trips. Moreover, aside frequent departures and a vast array of destinations, customers will be able to rely on heightened transport monitoring 24/7 thanks to a new control tower whose construction is foreseen to be completed in October. 🏗🗼🖲
For our Corridor, this is certainly welcome news! The demand for international rail freight traffic between Scandinavia and continental Europe is slowly rising and Green Cargo’s initiative is symptomatic of this positive trend. 💪📈

This airport conducts 35,000 aircraft operations and consumes 500,000 gallons of jet fuel per year, allowing tourists to enjoy the natural beauty of the North Lake Tahoe area. Among many good learnings from the airport, I particularly appreciate the insightful standpoint from their management about the value based philosophy on how to sustainably run the operation. Sustainability initiatives like this show the path to the world on how to make the energy transition a reality in the aviation industry. We look forward to teaming up with more partners like Avfuel and Truckee Tahoe airport to reduce GHG emissions from the aviation sector at a faster pace.

These 'mobile-mural' wrapped buses will help protect the enchanting environment they celebrate by replacing aging diesel hybrids. With the near-zero emission technology of CNG, each bus will have an estimated reduction of Greenhouse Gas emissions by 356.53 tons and NOx emissions by 3014.55 pounds over its lifespan compared to the buses they are replacing!

🔊 Electric ferry revolution in Argentina's Paraná Delta:
Just an hour from Buenos Aires, the Paraná Delta is embracing a greener future with Torqeedo's technology. We're collaborating with the region's second-largest ferry operator Delta Argentina Uruguay to introduce the Delta Eco One, a pioneering electric vessel set to replace the traditional diesel-powered ferries. Currently conducting test runs, this aluminum vessel is powered by Torqeedo's twin Cruise 12.0 motors and Power 48-5000 batteries.

🚢 BC Ferries Announces 5 New Eco-Friendly Vessels for Major Routes 🚢
BC Ferries has launched a major phase in its New Major Vessels (NMV) project by ordering five of seven new environmentally friendly ships to serve its busiest routes. These vessels, designed in collaboration with Norwegian firm LMG Marin, will carry up to 360 vehicles 🚗 and 2,100 passengers 🧳—a significant capacity boost compared to the current fleet.
Key benefits include:
- Cleaner, quieter operations 🌿 with advanced energy efficiency and reduced greenhouse gas emissions.
- Meeting growing demand 📈 as the region’s population expands and passenger traffic continues to break records.
- Helping to reduce wait times ⏳ and ensure schedule reliability, particularly during peak seasons.
The first five vessels are expected to enter service between 2029 and 2031 📅, with two more planned in a second phase to follow by 2037. This phased approach ensures the company can increase capacity while managing fare pressures and leveraging operational insights to refine the future builds.
With a continued focus on sustainability, BC Ferries also has two new battery-electric hybrid vessels 🔋 under construction to support its CleanBC goals 🌍, moving the company closer to its 2030 emissions targets.
This project represents a critical milestone in the company's fleet renewal strategy and is part of BC Ferries' largest capital investment ever.
