We were thrilled to attend the City Giving Day Engagement Breakfast Event this morning for The Lord Mayor's Appeal. The event gave an insight into City Giving Day itself, which is a unique annual event uniting businesses in the City of London and beyond, celebrating the positive impact they have for their charity partners and their communities, through fundraising and volunteering. We heard from The Lord Mayor of London, alongside a number of representatives from The Lord Mayor's Appeal, and also some case studies aimed at inspiring new ideas for the day itself. Thomas Miller look forward to taking part in City Giving Day again this year, on Tuesday 24th September. #CityGivingDay #CGD2024 #BeTheDifference

Yesterday, John Bevan and I created a straightforward template to use with one of our clients around our Architecture of Participation framework... https://lnkd.in/erm7hAEF We've used the AoP approach with huge organisations like Greenpeace and Red Hat, and tiny charities who we assisted during the pandemic lockdowns. If this seems like something that would benefit you and your organisation, get in touch! Last year, HAB Law supported over 20 different support organisations and charities thanks to the help of our community giving back pledge. This pledge, also known as our 1-1-1 method, ensures that we give back to the organisations who work with us, helping them to continue to provide the amazing services they offer year-round. The 1-1-1 method makes sure that… 💚 1% of the company’s profits are shared with client support organisations. 💚 1% of all work is pro bono for our clients. 💚 1% of all employee time is to be paid volunteer time for client support organisations. This approach helps us to best support our clients and also make a positive difference to the support organisations and the wider community. It’s the HAB way. The public sector, in particular, local Councils, make up the majority of our client base. As part of our contracts, we at Kinver business Solutions commit to delivering social value outputs in the areas we work, giving back to local communities. This time is not included in our fees and is additional, but is also rewarding and gives our team a better understanding of why regeneration projects are so important to communities, but also helps develop their skills. Over the last few years, for one client alone, we've generated nearly £40,000 of social value activity. Social value isn't just a buzz word to us as business or just a contractual obligation, we try and incorporate it into our whole business ethos. As part of our ten year anniversary celebrations, Managing Director Darowen Paul Jones has already launched our partnership with Kids Village Charity donating 1% of our annual turnover to them in the next twelve months. This is part of our 10 for 10 commitment, supporting 10 charitable causes for every year we've been in business. As part of our 10 for 10 social value commitment each team member will be giving 2 days of their time, in addition to our current commitments, to volunteer to a cause of their choice. If you have any ideas or suggestions for the team in terms of how we could support by volunteering our time, get in touch! Team contacts in comments! #socialvalue #10for10 #volunteering

Digital Marketer/WordPress Website Developer & Owner of Targeted Business Support, I take care of marketing tasks that small businesses do not have the time or expertise to so they can do the work they love.
No one can live forever, but we can all make a difference while we are on this earth. For some that may be through their jobs. Others may change the world through the companies that they create. And others may make their difference through volunteering, giving to charities, or simply by living their life in the best way possible while others are watching. But however we live our lives, let's make a difference while we are here. How do you make a difference??? #wednesdaywisdom #quoteoftheday #businessquote #targetedbusinesssupport #virtualassistant #tbsvirtualassistant #entrepreneurlife #smallbusinessowner #icanhelpyou #quoteoftheday #giving https://lnkd.in/dicCHw5B [email protected]

The CAF #WorldGivingIndex 2023 paints a mixed picture of the UK's generosity. We can take pride in our position as the 3rd most generous country for donating money, but overall the UK has slipped down the Index over the last decade. The UK’s ranks 58th in the world for volunteering and 112th for helping strangers, highlighting the need to build a more holistic culture of giving. Governments, funders, and civil society organisations all have unique roles to play. We can take inspiration from other countries, and we are calling on the Government to take a lead by introducing a national strategy for philanthropy and charitable giving.
