Our Senior Account Director, Katy Chadwick, attended the Agency Hackers Clockwork Operations event this week. Thanks to the AH team and amazing speakers for a great day. Here are our takeaways - not just relating to agency life! Operations is more about people over process: Operations is about managing people. Approaching operational challenges with a people-first mindset leads to much better results. Don’t think recruitment is the answer: Analyse your teams' capacity and skillsets. You may already have the people you need, so look at ways to increase efficiencies! Best Practices is more efficient than rigid processes: Inflexible processes hinders progress. Focus on best practices that provide a framework but have flex for different project needs. Leaders need to be on board: Whichever operational challenges you face, you need the support of senior leadership. It’s true that best practice begins at the top – involve and engage them from the start! Communication is paramount: Most project issues stem from poor communication (and maybe this is more apparent now with our hybrid way of working). Establish clear and consistent communication channels across teams, and with clients. And finally, BE PATIENT, change takes time. #creativeagency #operations
