INTERNAL RECRUITERS I had the pleasure of being hired into Reed via the unbelievable Sam Pask. He reached out with a tailored message, listened to my pain points and was able to guide me through the entire process with ease and simplicity. Not only this, but the way he presented himself and Reed was so professional and engaging - it was hard to say no 🚀 There have also been a number of other instances where internal recs/ R2Rs have reached out with the same energy and approach, but it's not been of interest and we've left it on a good note, usually signed off with a "good luck" from myself. I will always endeavour to respond (no matter the interest) as I'm aware how hard this role can be and I like to support fellow consultants as best I can 💙 However, I've recently had the (dis) pleasure of receiving a couple of non-tailored, and not at all professional messages, from other internal recruiters. One of these even turned confrontational and impertinent quite quickly when I explained why I wasn't keen to progress in the politest way possible 😕 So, it got me thinking - what damage does it do to recruitment companies to have these types of characters in positions where they're the face of their organisation? Does your company rely on pugnacious approaches to find the best people?
