Excellent article by Beauty Independent and Rachel Brown 👍 thank you for these important perspectives from industry leaders on the importance of science in beauty. I particularly liked Melissa Christenson's input and the term science-led 🔬 "First, I would point out the nuance between “science-backed” and “science-led” beauty brands. As a cosmetic chemist, I know that there’s real science behind the development of every product, from the ingredients to the formulations to the testing, processing and manufacturing... So, in my mind, any product could legitimately be considered rooted in science. But what I think we need to highlight are the brands that are truly “science-led” or “science-driven,” brands that are able to innovate based on their unique competencies, partnerships and/or exclusive technologies"

Thank you to the New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists Suppliers’ Day organizers for another insightful show in New York City and to all those who attended! Last week, we had the pleasure of contributing to the first edition of the show’s Inspiration Zone, a pavilion dedicated to showcasing breakthrough innovations from worldwide ingredients and formulations suppliers.
