What does it mean to embody the practice of holding space? That’s a question I’ve asked myself this week, after teaching a workshop on the topic.
Our How to Hold Space Foundation Program starts soon and we look forward to gathering our people for meaningful conversations about this beautiful practice. Join us!

That's a wrap for #spacebound2023! Well done to the Space Canada | Espace Canada team for facilitating such important conversations and observations on the future of space industry development in Canada.
Personally, it was a real pleasure taking the stage with Selwa Rafi, Ph.D, Samara Pillay, Bachar Elzein, Jason Carvalho and moderator Ryan Anderson speaking to financing strategies and opportunities for growth companies. Some key takeaways:
** Focus on revenue to drive business fundamentals and enable longer term development objectives, but caution on how that might impact institutional capital interest
** Companies and investors alike need, and stand to benefit greatly from, the modernization of our space regulatory framework
** When starting out and setting out governance and capital structure among other things, where possible follow the kiss principle, keep it simple, stupid.

🌐 Today marked a productive session at the BrightSpace project's Workpackage 3 meeting.
🚀 Under the theme "Evidence on technology, structural change, consumer preferences," this workpackage is dedicated to empirically studying the drivers of non-policy processes and their correlation with Safe and Just outcomes within the Safe and Just Operational Space concept.
💼 The primary focus of today's meeting was a detailed discussion on finalizing our first deliverable report, scheduled for completion by the end of April: Deliverable D3.1 - a Preliminary Report on the impact of Technology, Structural Change, and Demand-side Processes.
🌍💡Exciting steps toward insightful contributions! Stay tuned.

"Oxford research on the global space economy argues that commercial markets are shaped by multiple actors, their distributed activities, which over time result in consolidated business models, regulatory frameworks and sustained types of collaboration – in short, recognizable ‘pathways’ to the space economy.
In this Oxford Smart Space episode on “Pathways to Space” we feature conversations about how incumbent firms, government agencies, ventures, and others imagine ‘space’ as an opportunity for business and how they organize their strategies.
With our featured speakers we explore the following questions:
• What does ‘space’ mean as a commercial opportunity?
• What strategies are your firm or agency exploring to create and deliver value?
• What forms of working together do you see emerging between public and private sector, on platforms and ecosystem approaches, with incumbents and startups, timeframes and criteria of ‘success’ in your own firm and in the broader sector? "
