A group of passionate leaders, united in the fight against polarization across various sectors, participated in our staple stream of consciousness exercise. We invited them to close their eyes and describe 'an impossible, fantastical future'. Here’s what they said:

How do you feel about dissent? Do you welcome it? Zach Bonaker believes dissent and debate are critical for building uncommon teams. "Allowing people to dissent and understand why and caring about it....That’s one of the pinnacles of seeing people as people and a workforce that is truly human-friendly" Zach says, in our upcoming Uncommon Leadership episode (drops Monday!) Here's a bit more from Zach on the topic: https://lnkd.in/gUwdJyFH What debate are you looking forward to today? Let Zach and me know in the comments! #leadership #mindset #change

🌟 MIKROGEN Emerging Leaders Program Module 3 Reflections 🌟 This week, we've wrapped up Module 3 of our Emerging Leaders Program and the insights were truly transformative. Here are the core takeaways: - The Myth of Motivation: True leadership isn't about amassing followers to advance your journey—it's about igniting others to realize their own potential. - Your Story, Your Leadership: We revisited the poignant narrative of Viktor E. Frankl to understand that leadership often requires a pivotal moment to recognize our purpose. Our stories shape us significantly. - Reflecting on Crucibles: Identifying the events that have sculpted our character is crucial. What life lessons did these "crucibles" impart? - Inspiration Corner: The untold story of Charles M. Schulz (https://lnkd.in/eNYdyCTR) reminded us that everyone has a unique story that can inspire others. - From Event to Response: Our explanatory style matters. Do we view challenges as fleeting and external, or permanent and personal? The optimistic frame can be a game-changer. - Cultivating Resilience: Shifting our response from pessimism to optimism isn't just about feeling better—it's about building resilience. - Empathy vs. Sympathy: Empathy builds connections; sympathy can unintentionally create distance. Remember, empathy is a powerful, and sometimes vulnerable, choice. - Empathy in Action: It involves perspective-taking, non-judgmental listening, recognizing shared emotions, and communicating understanding. - Embracing Discomfort: Empathy asks us to lean into discomfort, to remember and share in feelings that might be uneasy, fostering a deeper connection. - Connection is Key: Responses alone can't solve problems, but fostering connection can make things better. Each module is a step toward becoming not just a leader, but a beacon of inspiration and support for others. Let's take these learnings and create a ripple effect of positive change! #EmergingLeaderProgram #Mikrogen #LeadershipDevelopment #EmergingLeaders #AuthenticLeadership #Empathy #Resilience

If you want to know about catalysts in general, check out our website (Inspire to Change | https://lnkd.in/dsRKqS4E). If you want to learn more about an inspiring catalyst in action, check out Suzanne's website (Catalyst North | https://catalystnorth.org). The potty-mouthed Professor Scott Galloway (NYU), known for not mincing words, delivers a potent message in "How the US is Destroying Young People's Futures." It's a frank, unvarnished examination of the systemic hurdles our students face in the current educational and economic environment. As a grandfather of three, this TED Talk disrupted my privileged perspectives. The future isn't predetermined. Previous generations of leaders shaped it; now it's our turn to redefine it. What are we prepared to change to better love our kids…and theirs? https://lnkd.in/gnvJNhM4 #edleadership #edleader #highered #higheredleadership #teamdevelopment #cancelaverage #leadership #leadershipdevelopment

Facing into 2024 : Innovation and Creativity cannot thrive in any organisation set up as a capitalistic model that is addicted to short term profit. Expecting Infinite growth in a finite system/company, favours the promotion of ruthless leaders that do not care who they annihilate in pursuit of their goals.
