"Bring your puppy to the office" - they said. "It will be fun" 😃 It is fun... for the puppy. Well and actually for everyone. Several studies and surveys suggest that the presence of pets, particularly dogs, in the workplace can have positive effects on employee mood, stress levels, and overall job satisfaction. 🐶 The International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health found that access to dogs can help reduce stress and improve mood in the workplace. 🐶 According to a survey conducted by the American Pet Products Association, employees in pet-friendly workplaces are more likely to have higher job satisfaction and feel more engaged with their work. 🐶 Research has also indicated that the presence of dogs in the workplace can enhance social interactions among employees. Dogs can act as social catalysts, helping to break down barriers and encourage communication between individuals who might not normally interact. So we don't mind cleaning up some fluff. Benefits of having a dog-friendly workplace (and a friendly reminder that guide dogs are allowed in all public places of work, no policy change needed!) Work-life balance Allowing employees to bring their pets into the office can help your team maintain a better work-life balance. Many pet owners feel their pets are a part of their family, so allowing them to bring their pets to the office can help them feel more connected to home. Stress reduction Animals, particularly dogs, have been shown to help reduce stress. Many offices and colleges bring dogs in for employees and students to pet and interact with occasionally to boost morale and lower stress levels. Allowing your employees to bring their pets into the office whenever they please should have the same effect. Health and well-being With lowered stress levels, employees are likely to experience fewer stress-related illnesses, which decreases healthcare costs. Additionally, dogs need to go outside throughout the day, encouraging employees to take work breaks and get some midday exercise. Employee satisfaction When your employees feel like you care about them by allowing them to bring their pets into the office, they’re likely to experience higher levels of job satisfaction. Employees who enjoy their jobs are often more productive than those who don’t and will be encouraged to continue working for your company. Morale and team building Office pets can help boost morale and foster relationship building between coworkers. It’s unlikely that every employee will bring their pet to work. Those employees who don’t have a pet but enjoy interacting with animals can benefit from stopping to pet a coworker’s dog and chat with the owner as a quick work break. Employee savings You’ll help your employees save money by allowing them to bring their pets to work. Many people need to hire dog walkers during the day to ensure their pets can get outside. If you allow pets in the office, then your employees won’t need to pay for that service. (Source: Indeed.com) Consider joining our dog-friendly team at GDB today! A big topic of discussion today was being "safe", feeling safe enough in a work environment to be able to voice your opinions and feelings without any fear of repercussions. Creating a safe space goes a long way and people will notice as soon as they step foot in the door. Fostering and maintaining that safe space as part of your company culture will keep those people coming back in through those doors. Not every workplace provides that safe space, and not everyone will allow you to feel safe enough to be heard. I'm sure we've all been there, whether you're on one side or the other, have you done anything about it? #workplaceculture #companyculturematters #companyculture

Passionate about personal and professional growth, and shaping the future of work. 𝐋𝐞𝐭'𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫! ✨
𝐃𝐨𝐠𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 🐕 Veronika Tsachev once joked that Fridays are perfect for dogs in the office. But seeing how much joy my occasional visitor, Max, brings to the team, it seems every day is a good day for a dog at work 😅 It often looks like Max isn't just a pet; he's a morale booster. With that said, having dogs in the office isn't just cute; it's scientifically beneficial. Petting a dog reduces stress and boosts feel-good hormones like serotonin and oxytocin. Plus, dogs encourage social interaction and bonding among colleagues 🤝 However, let´s not forget, clear guidelines are necessary to ensure everyone's comfort and safety 🐕 In short, bringing dogs to the office isn't just a perk for pet owners—it's a morale-boosting, stress-reducing, and team-building strategy that benefits everyone. Even if Max´s occasional naps positions suggest he is not taking his important role too seriously 😂

What is your take on a dog-friendly workplace? I genuinely believe that a dog-friendly workplace can lead to a happier, more productive workforce and foster a sense of community and belonging. As the boundaries between work and life continue to blur, more companies are recognizing the value of allowing employees to bring their furry friends to the office. However, creating a successful dog-friendly environment requires careful planning and consideration. So here are a few tips to build a pawsitive workplace: Develop a comprehensive pet policy that outlines rules and expectations for employees bringing dogs to work. - Designate specific areas for dogs to relieve themselves. - Set aside dedicated spaces for dogs to take breaks, play, and socialize. - Encourage employees to be mindful of their pet's behavior and needs. - Recognize that not all employees may be comfortable around dogs, and respect their preferences. - And finally, embrace the presence of dogs in the workplace by organizing pet-themed events and photo-sharing opportunities! As a dog lover, I am quite convinced that a pawsitive workplace is a good way to reduce stress, increase employee satisfaction, and ensure a more collaborative and inclusive culture. Is your workplace dog-friendly? . . . #dogfriendlyoffice #worklifebalance #doglove

Having office pets is more than just a cute trend; it can significantly boost employee morale. Studies have shown that furry companions in the workplace reduce stress levels, increase productivity, and promote a happier atmosphere. Dogs, cats, and even rabbits have become common furry coworkers, offering employees a brief respite from their tasks for some petting and playtime. These animal interactions also foster better workplace relationships, as employees bond over their shared love for the office pets. So, it's not just the employees who benefit; these furry friends contribute to a healthier and more joyful work environment. #OfficePets #EmployeeMorale #FurryFriendsAtWork #WorkplaceWellness #ProductivityBoosters

Did you know that the Work Paws Playdates Program allows corporate partners to provide relief and interactive fun for their employees? Participating employees are encouraged to take a few minutes out of their day to leave their workstations and interact with the animals. Employees can walk a dog, play fetch, pet a puppy, or cuddle a kitten. Welcoming Operation Kindness animals into your workplace helps your staff stay healthy and practice good habits, such as taking breaks. On a deeper level, pets help alleviate some of the stress associated with work life. They also promote team bonding, laughter, and a positive work environment. Additionally, there is a huge benefit to the animals in our care. Playdates give them a chance to socialize and reveal more about their personalities which helps them get adopted. Follow the link to learn more about our Work Paws Playdates and reach out to our Development team to schedule a fun, cuddly day for your team! https://lnkd.in/gg6ZB9yQ

For many, pets also provide significant emotional support and joy personally.
