Join us in welcoming Dawnya Underwood to The Centers as our new CCH Executive Director! With over twenty years of experience in social services and child welfare, Dawnya has collaborated with federal agencies, child welfare organizations, and state and local governments to support vulnerable populations, including justice-involved individuals, unhoused individuals and families, unaccompanied and separated children, and those affected by violence, systemic racism, and health inequities. A dynamic Chicago native, Dawnya holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Master’s degree in Social Work. She has traveled the world extensively, lived in Ethiopia, played college basketball, and is a super fan of The Golden Girls and loves pizza (not just Chicago style). We are grateful that she has chosen our great city of Cleveland and The Centers’ CCH as the next place where she will have the most impact, and we are excited to see the positive changes she will bring to our organization and community!

3wI was glad to be part of the conversation around the importance of high quality early learning and care. This issue impacts everyone not just parents & children, but communities & businesses - the ability to prepare children for kindergarten & the ability for parents to go to work.
