We recognise this day at Odyssey House Victoria to help us remember that LGBTQIA liberation and inclusion is a recent and ongoing event in history and that the community still faces high levels of discrimination. Here are some ways you can be an active ally and support for the LGBTQIA community: -Being intolerant of intolerance - call it out if it's inappropriate. -Respecting pronouns - Not sure which pronouns someone uses? Just ask. Then use that pronoun and encourage others to do so. -Not assuming someone is or isn't LGBTQIA - LGBTQIA people don’t all look a certain way, and many may not appear to be part of the community. -Listen to LGBTQIA voices in your workplace and community - Listen with an open mind and heart to the experiences of LGBTQIA people.

Today we’ve published our Listen Up! report, looking back over the stats and impact from the more than 13,000 conversations we handled last year, and it’s remarkable to see not only the difference it makes, but also the changes we can map to real-world events as they happen. We also can deliver sessions on this data, and how learnings from these trends can be applied to your organisation, so please get in touch for more information on content and fees if you are interested!
Today we are publishing our second Listen Up! Report which provides data from our conversation reports in 2022, as well as reflections from some of our dedicated volunteers on the key themes we hear from people about. The insights from over 13,000 anonymous conversations had via phone, IM and email across the year contribute significantly to our understanding of the LGBTQIA communities in the UK. What we are exploring, worried about, seeking to understand and fighting for. The report also highlights the invaluable impact of the Switchboard service for these communities, which continues to be as vital now as it has ever been.
