When is "within defined limits" important in a focused assessment? Focused assessments concentrate only on the issue at hand, and nurses may have learned to document only abnormal findings. However, pertinent normal findings should be noted. Epic has a fun feature that allows the user to flag values. So for that stroke patient who now has no symptoms, a pertinent assessment (even in a focused assessment environment such as the ED or urgent care) would be the neuro WDL. Document like an attorney's reading it. #documentation #ernurse #emergencynurse #emergencydepartment #expert #lnc #nurse #epic

NURSES tell us in the comments why you'd prefer these over the CICC lines pointed up towards the neck? Here are some examples of how you can turn your CICC lines away from the neck to lead the nursing team to success in reducing CLABSI. #vascularaccess #doctor #nurse

A Baby Had No Home After a Stay in the NICU. Her Nurses Adopted Her. Nurses Taylor and Drew Deras doted on tiny and fragile baby Ella, one of their premature NICU patients who was born at 23 weeks, weighing just over a pound. Ella, who was born in May 2021, needed intensive medical care, including several blood transfusions. Whenever Taylor Deras had downtime during her shift, she would snuggle Ella and read to her. Her husband, who also had a soft spot for the baby girl, did the same. https://lnkd.in/gwR57rPu #medicine #nursing #nursingleadership #medicalmalpractice #medicalnegligence #attorney #expertwitness #nursingcrisis #medicalmalpractice
