In 2021, Texas Woman’s University took a monumental step forward by becoming a university system. This evolution represents not just a structural change but a strategic commitment to expanding our impact and fostering innovation in higher education. As a university system, we are better positioned to serve Texas more broadly, enhance educational accessibility, and drive greater prosperity for all. This transformation underscores our dedication to excellence and our mission to empower students through comprehensive, high-quality education. The role of a chancellor in this context extends far beyond academic leadership. It involves engaging with political landscapes, advocating for policies that support our goals, and securing resources to sustain our growth. Navigating the complexities is crucial to championing the needs of our students, faculty, and staff, and ensuring the continued success of our institution.

Headmaster at New York Military Academy | College Consultancy Expert | Shaping Future Leaders Through Excellence in Education and Guidance
NYMA's Midterm Week: A Time for Growth and Learning As we enter Midterm Week (Jan 9-12) at New York Military Academy (NYMA), it’s a time not just for assessments but for significant growth. In the lead-up, cadets showed remarkable engagement, seeking clarification and refining study methods - a testament to their dedication and our nurturing environment. This period is not solely about academic rigor; it’s equally about developing resilience. We focus on teaching cadets to manage stress and perform under pressure, equipping them with skills for life beyond academia. The Midterm Week is also a showcase of our community's strength. The support from parents, teachers, and peers is crucial, highlighting the collaborative spirit of NYMA. Our approach to midterms goes beyond testing academic knowledge. It includes teaching time management, prioritization, and individualized study strategies. These skills are crucial for academic success and are invaluable life lessons. As educators, we strive to balance academic demands with the mental and emotional well-being of our cadets. This holistic approach is at the heart of our educational philosophy. Midterm Week at NYMA is a reflection of our commitment to not just educate but to foster all-around development. In conclusion, Midterm Week at NYMA is more than a series of exams; it’s a comprehensive learning experience. We are proud of our cadets' resilience and commitment and are excited to see them grow into well-rounded individuals ready to face future challenges. #NYMAMidterms #HolisticEducation #CadetDevelopment

Love this and Hook'em Horns. But my advice to all of the Longhorns and wish-you-were Longhorns who want to make it in public affairs remains the same: get out there. Join a campaign. Work the grassroots. Realize that the public in public affairs is paramount. Then go work on the Hill - get your "hand stamped" and understand how the sausage is made. Once you have those insights then the world of public affairs and smart political consulting is yours.
A new undergraduate degree is coming to the Forty Acres! The LBJ School of Public Affairs is launching its first undergraduate degree, focused on skills in leadership, policy analysis, data analytics, communication and organizational management for a career in public service. The University of Texas at Austin's LBJ School of Public Affairs has been training leaders for more than 50 years. These leaders have spanned roles and industries — including a governor, nonprofit CEOs, a university president and many other trailblazers — but they have all come to the LBJ School as graduate students. We are thrilled to now allow our undergraduate students the opportunity to access this same sort of world-class educational experience with the new bachelor of public affairs degree. An LBJ education will give them earlier exposure to opportunities to lead and will open new ways to positively impact society through constructive discourse and public policy.
