It was an honor to host US Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia and US Representative Bobby Scott, along with other local leaders, who toured Holley Pointe in Portsmouth on July 5, 2024. Holley Pointe provides 50 affordable homes for workforce families, singles, and seniors that earn 30 to 80% of area median income. In addition, there is a 6,500-square foot commercial space on the first floor that is home to a restaurant and performance studio for youth. Fun at the old ball game...several of our summer interns caught the Columbus Clippers game last night against the Omaha Storm Chasers. Too bad the Clippers didn't get the W but the group had fun just the same. #funtimes #crackerjacks #summerfun #summerinternships #WodaCooper

Our summer interns have quickly integrated into our workplace, learning about affordable housing while also assisting with a wide variety of projects and immersing themselves into life at Woda Cooper Companies, Inc. We are so pleased to have our 2024 interns! Recently, several of the intern team visited Lockbourne Greene and Wheatland Crossing in Columbus. Many members of the Peoples Ops and Management teams assisted with the tours. Regional Manager Angel Moore and Community Managers Alexus Yarbrough and Elycia Brown gave tours and answered questions about leasing, and how we assist our residents and maintain properties. #Interns #BrightFutures #Work #SchoolsOut #AffordableHousing #WodaCooper #Talent #OnJobLearning. Enjoy scenes from the tours and learn more about our interns in photos.

The Kentucky Affordable Housing Corporation held its 3rd Annual Golf Scramble June 18 at the Polo Fields in Louisville -- we were very pleased to be a sponsor for the event and breakfast! Our golf team didn’t win the scramble, but they put forward a great effort and had a lot of fun. Tammy Stansbury, who heads up development for our Kentucky office, helped organize the event. She is joined in the photo by Woda Cooper golfers (L to R) Alex Keller, Clay Cooper, Parker Zee, and Patrick Olding. Thanks for representing, team! The Kentucky Affordable Housing Coalition is made up of affordable housing developers, syndicators, financial institutions, architects, market analysts, realtors, attorneys, and property managers. The coalition promotes policy, education, and growth of affordable housing development through information sharing, networking, educational opportunities, and support.

We are so proud of Maia Cooper, Vice President - Developer, who was honored as the Female Champion at the Women’s Affordable Housing Network (WAHN) Summit 2024 held last week in Atlanta. Maia “overwhelmingly won” the award according to WAHN leaders based on her leadership in affordable housing, kindness, dedication in advancing women in the industry, and also her initiative to write Everybody Deserves a Home, a children’s book that helps explain the need for affordable housing and ways that it is addressed. Many of Maia's associates and colleagues have expressed congratulations to Maia, including David Cooper, Jr. and Jeffrey J. Woda: “Maia is dedicated to advancing the cause of women in affordable housing and related professions. She is passionate about hiring, mentoring, promoting, and otherwise advancing the cause of women in the workplace. Her award is well deserved,” said Mr. Cooper who serves as Woda Cooper’s President.
