We have been celebrating #LoveAdmin Week - a week dedicated to recognising, supporting and thanking all of our administrative workforce. We are so proud of all our administrative staff whose vital contributions to the Trust ensures that our patients receive the very best care at every point of their Royal Marsden journey. Highlights from the week include the launch of our new Administrative Competency Framework which will play an important role in supporting career development. During #LoveAdmin Week, colleagues were also able to choose from a range of skills development workshops and activities. From developing interview skills to painting classes, the week's itinerary had something for everyone. Thank you to all of our admin staff 💙

As we complete the Passover festivities, it’s important to remember the significance of systems in our lives. Just as we follow traditions and rituals during the holiday, having systems in place for curating content is essential for success 🌟Spreadsheets are incredible tools for organizing and tracking content effectively. They allow us to stay organized, set goals, and measure our progress. Just like the Haggadah guides us through the Passover seder, spreadsheets guide us through our content curation process 📊Having a system in place for curating content not only helps us stay on track, but also ensures that we are producing high-quality, relevant content for our audience. By keeping track of our progress in a spreadsheet, we can easily see what is working well and what needs improvement 📈Just as we show up to prayer services during Passover to connect with our faith and community, showing up to our content curation work is essential for building our brand and engaging our audience. By using a spreadsheet to track how many services we attend, we can hold ourselves accountable and stay motivated to keep showing up 🙏I’ve put together a spreadsheet to keep myself in check and track how many #Minyans I’ve shown up to during Passover. By setting goals and tracking my progress, I can ensure that I was fully participating in this important holiday and staying connected to my faith 🙌How do you use systems and spreadsheets to stay organized and accountable in your content curation process? Share your tips and tricks in the comments below! #Passover #ContentCuration #Systems #Spreadsheets #Minyan 🌺📝

One thing that's boosting our energy this mid-winter week is welcoming the new members of our Take Ownership of Your Career program! A theme that came up in our first meeting yesterday was how to center *your* most important priorities (like flexibility, time with family, income, and more) while also making a bigger #impact through your work. ⚖️ Finding the balance that's right for them is one of the things our group members will be working on in the coming weeks, as they map out what they want next in their careers. If you're at a #career crossroads or ready to re-evaluate your work and life priorities, we'd love to have you join us for our next Take Ownership program this spring. ⏰ We'll be opening an *extra-early* prioritity registration window for that program in February, just for folks who are signed up on our interest list. Join right here to get all the details! --> https://buff.ly/2PoxQOh #careers #careerplanning #careerdevelopment #careercoaching

Non-promotable work. 🙅♀️ Have you heard of this? 🤔 It’s a relatively new term that reflects a long-standing problem. What is it? Non-promotable work is a task that benefits the company but not YOU. What type of work falls into this category? Note-taking 📝, collating decks, planning parties and off-sites, onboarding interns. In other words, tasks that can be time-consuming, take time away from your core role responsibilities and worse, may prevent you from getting promoted. Not surprisingly, these tasks often fall on women. 👩💼 Yes, sometimes these tasks simply need to get done and you want to be a team player. And sometimes, it can be empowering to be in charge of note-taking if you get to make assignments for others. But if more than 5-10% of your time is being spent on non-promotable work that prevents you from advancing, it’s time to take action. ⏳ Which of these non-promotable tasks have you been asked to do before? Or are there any other examples you would add to the list? 🤔 ⬳ For more information about Compensation Confidence, visit: https://lnkd.in/gpS-MFQm To subscribe to our newsletter, visit: https://lnkd.in/gjheQ46a Inspiration for this post came from “The No Club: Putting a Stop to Women's Dead-End Work” By Linda Babcock, Brenda Peyser, Lise Vesterlund and Laurie Weingart and from “You Should Smile More” by The Band of Sisters. #NonPromotableWork #WorkplaceEquity

Please read for very practical tips on how to avoid being overtasked with the "office housework" (aka non-promotable work). And leaders, pay attention - your people will be so grateful for the equity on this point. #inclusiveleadership #genderequity #thebandofsisters

MONDAY TIP OF THE DAY Starting the week with intention means fostering a supportive and internally safe environment. Let's embrace the CARES Framework for this: Communication: Begin with open dialogues that prioritize understanding and empathy. Accessibility: Ensure emotional and mental well-being resources are within everyone's reach. Resources: Surround yourself with tools and people that instill confidence and peace of mind. Systems and Processes: Set up processes that emphasize respect, trust, and mutual support. Implementation: Consistently nurture an environment where everyone feels safe to share and be themselves. (Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion): Recognize and value the diverse emotions and backgrounds in your space, creating an inclusive haven for all. "A truly supportive environment isn't just physically safe; it's a sanctuary for the heart and mind." Let's set the tone for a week where everyone feels seen, heard, and cherished. #CARESPlus #InternalSafety #MondayMotivation
