As one of your ambassadors for United to Beat Malaria United Nations Foundation I am joining everyone on advocating on the prevention of the climate crisis. We must limit the usage of fossil fuels and greenhouse gasses in order to prevent malaria from spreading and to cause harm in to our health. We should prevent the destruction of our environment and we should practice the usage of substitutions, instead of relying on fossil fuels. In light of the significant impact of #climate ⛈ 🌤 🧠 on the distribution of neglected tropical diseases (#NTDs) in Africa, particularly in #Ethiopia , urgent attention is needed to enhance emergency #preparedness and #readiness. Trachoma, leishmaniasis, soil-transmitted helminths, and malaria remain persistent threats, exacerbated by #environmental_factors influenced by climate change. Strengthening surveillance systems, implementing early warning mechanisms, and establishing robust response strategies are imperative to mitigate the spread of these diseases and minimize their adverse effects on vulnerable populations. Prioritizing interdisciplinary #collaborations and resource allocation can bolster efforts to address these NTDs, safeguarding public health and fostering resilience in the face of climatic challenges.
