We work with forward-thinking companies that want to improve hiring outcomes and reduce friction in the process, resulting in happier hires.
"Join or Die" might be the most crucial film you'll watch because it confronts the alarming decline in civic engagement—a trend that threatens the very foundation of our democracy. If we don't take immediate action to reverse this trend, our communities, freedoms, and future are at grave risk. This film is a call to arms, urging us to reconnect with our civic duties before it's too late. But beyond the warning, "Join or Die" also reveals the profound benefits of joining and participating in civic life. By re-engaging with our communities, we don't just preserve democracy; we enrich our lives, build stronger, more resilient neighborhoods, and leave a lasting legacy for future generations. Civic engagement fosters a sense of belonging, purpose, and shared responsibility, making our societies healthier and more vibrant. Watching this film isn't just about understanding the problem—it's about embracing the solution. #civicengagement #Rotary #BuildingCommunityThroughFUN

If you knew that more turbulent times were approaching, how might you prepare yourself? Doug Casey has solid advice for surviving and thriving in the coming crisis, even if your means are modest. The racists of the past and the anti-racists of today both believe that a person's skin color tells them everything they need to know about how to treat that person. Paul Rosenberg explains the desperation of anti-white racism. The online world is abuzz with discussion of last night's State of the Union address. Michael Herman reminds us that what was televised last night was nothing more than a show. This is going to raise some ire but it's a topic worth exploring: Do traffic tickets make us drive more safely? Economist Peter Jacobsen has an answer worth considering. Article of the Day: Alexander Solzhenitsyn was a remarkable source of hard-won wisdom. Barry Brownstein has an enlightening essay on why Solzhenitsyn's line between good and evil matters. https://lnkd.in/gkg9U56e From #guerrillatheater to #media warfare #AbbieHoffman's riotous revolution in #America: a myth Bruce Eric France, Jr. #thesis #ushistory Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College ..."Abstract The following thesis is a discussion of the radical activist Abbie Hoffman’s theatrical work to revolutionize the United States. What the author does is explain the historical uniqueness of Hoffman’s theatrical techniques as tools for social change. What made Abbie Hoffman such a unique character from that already bizarre and devastating time in the United States known as The Sixties was his ability to infuse pot with politics, fun with social activism and cultural change with his contemporary means of communication. He was able to excite and activate a whole generation of people who would otherwise drop out of society rather than become involved by walking a thin line between being a revolutionary and being a clown. The thesis begins by focusing on Hoffman’s early guerrilla theater performances and proceeds to his larger, nationally focused demonstrations in Washington D.C. and Chicago. Each chapter extrapolates from the descriptions of the performances the theories which influenced the subsequent performance. The culmination of Abbie’s work is his highly publicized trial (with seven other defendants) in Chicago for the riots that took place there the previous year. What we are made to understand is that while Abbie and most of the other radicals of the time are often brushed off as stoned freaks with nothing to offer in the way of social improvement, it is exactly their ability to volley between being taken seriously and being overlooked which allowed them to get away with saying and doing so much. 7 yrs Producer / Latino & Hispanic 🇵🇷 / Disabled ♿️ (Fibromyalgia) / Neurodivergent 🧠🌈 ♾️ (AUDHDI) / I works to create an environment where everyone feels heard & respected. My views and opinions are my own.
The debate on LinkedIn surrounding the #EntertainmentIndustry revolves around two opposing views. One is whether workers should keep silent about the abuse they face, while the other is whether they should speak out against it, even if it could harm their career prospects. There is no straightforward answer, but if one were to use a media piece to portray this dilemma, "Hamilton - Aaron Burr, Sir./My Shot" would be appropriate. As someone in the #workforce, I have been vocal on #LinkedIn and social media despite the risks it may pose to my career. I understand the issue, but it's critical to note that corporate accountability extends beyond financial success and includes ethical conduct, environmental impact, diversity commitment, and fair treatment of employees. Companies must be held responsible for the consequences of their actions on society and the environment. As members of an oppressed class, we should unite and demand higher wages and respect for our work. Let's stand together and demonstrate our strength. I leave you with this question: Do you want to work in an industry that doesn't value you as a human being and mistreats you? If you're passionate about unionizing the #gaming and #VFX industry and attending #GDC2024, there is a critical discussion you should attend. The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (#IATSE) is hosting a session titled "Now Is the Time! Workers in Games Are Ready to Form Unions." They will also have a booth on the show floor (#P1861). You can show your support by attending the session and visiting their booth. For more information, you can check out their website at https://shorturl.at/huKLT Let's stand for workers' rights and raise awareness about this issue. Use #UnionStrong, #workersrights, #gamedevelopment, and #gamedev to spread the word. #EmbracerGroup, #Microsoft, #Sony, #RoosterTeeth, #EpicGames, #WarnerBros, #Ubisoft, #EA, etc. https://lnkd.in/em7UTsS6

There are certain segments of the population in our country that actively promotes freedom of speech among musicians, particularly, Black Rappers in America. I, too support free speech; however, when the rap lyrics are spewing deadly content about our Black brothers and demeaning our Black sisters, I draw the line. The Rap Industry is one of the most, if not the most dangerous profession for Black males in America. I understand the music is often revealing life styles usually of individuals who have made it from the permanent underclass or the hoods, to selling their rap songs which are streamed and played over the country. However, to the best of my knowledge, there are no other musicians in America murdered at the rate of Black Rappers. Why? This is horrible, but until there is a crisis intervention and prevention plan to address the social determinants responsible for the Black Male Homicide Epidemic, we cannot and should not be surprised at Rappers being murdered as reported in this article. 1stand45.com Rapper Chris King Shot & Killed In Nashville https://lnkd.in/gDmUJRAs

America is on a journey. And, we just took a detour. As a communicator, the question at hand is this: How do we deal the legacy of the past four years. They did not end well, we just want to move on. Step back a few years to the day that a real estate developer and TV reality star rode down an escalator and announced a run for president. Many wrote it off as a stunt, but some media tuned it in. Soon comments, rallies, and events were aired live. TV cable news gave the fire oxygen, and legitimized a media stunt. Primaries came, and the side show became a full circus — and the media kept up its coverage, often ignoring the events and policies of legitimate politicians. Four year later, the page has been turned after a violent set of events: So now what? Well, think of Jozef Tiso, Mátyás Rákosi, Khorloogiin Choibalsan, Enver Hoxha, Ian Smith and Teodoro Obiang. Not names you read of much, see mentioned in news reports, or articles. They are the forgotten strongmen. Brutal, and repressing poplar sovereignty, they fanned the flames of hatred and nationalism to obtain and hold on to power. https://lnkd.in/eDdsWFV
