🎧 New Podcast Episode Alert! 🎧 This episode delves deeper into the teachings of the Beatitudes and how we can effectively teach our children these important principles. In this episode, Leanne Mancini explores key concepts and offers practical advice on how to explain the Beatitudes to our children. Here are three key takeaways from this episode: 1️⃣ Mercy and compassion: The world we live in often lacks mercy and compassion. However, the beatitudes challenge us to choose mercy even when it's not reciprocated. By showing compassion and mercy against all odds, we demonstrate true strength. 2️⃣ Developing a pure heart: Teaching our children about purity of heart can be a challenging task. It involves helping them understand the dual nature within us, the sinless and sinful aspects. By leaning towards the pureness that is Christ, we can guide our children to fight against the desire to sin. 3️⃣ Being peacemakers: In a world that often encourages conflict and self-interest, the beatitudes call us to be peacemakers. Jesus exemplified this by not engaging in combat and promoting peace even when attacked. Teaching our children to be peacemakers, rather than engaging with bullies, allows them to reflect the character of God. We see the injustice and poverty around us, but are often overly aware of our own sense of limitation. We want to respond but feel unsure how, facing the question: Can an ordinary Christian like me make any real difference in this world? Jonathan Wilson, host of Ziwani’s latest podcast series, ‘Big Change: How ordinary Christians change their world’, believes you can. Joined by a lineup of incredible guests, they argue over 12 episodes that significant change and a better world are driven by the collective efforts of 'ordinary Christians'.
