Our word: "Life-giving." For us in Suriname, the ocean is more than just a vast expanse of water; it is a vital part of our heritage and daily life. It provides us with food, supports our economy, and influences our climate. The coastal and marine ecosystems are crucial to the biodiversity that we cherish and rely on. As we celebrate Oceans Month, let's recognize the ocean's importance in sustaining our communities and commit to protecting it for future generations. This month is high season for these tiny creatures....

Sharing this small poem penned by me to celebrate magnificence of Oceans. 👏 A soulful soliloquy- on Oceans! Beyond the mundane and beneath the surface, Away from madding crowds and stifling norms, There exists an amazing world full of enchanting species- thriving right under the depths of oceans. How amazing the ocean nourishes all with its intricate flora and fauna. So limitless, life giving and still humble. Singing silent symphonies on silent days&nights. How it captures my soul and keeps me enchanted- in total awe and wonder.
