Great brand collaboration and inspiration indeed! MUJI is no stranger to any of us. In recent years, we’ve observed a surge in limitless creativity across many fields, particularly in the lifestyle market segment. However, some projects continue to captivate me with their unique concepts and innovative executions. As one author notes, “When envisioning public art, we often think of grand sculptures, large murals, or digital displays. What seldom comes to mind are public restrooms.” Hungarian designer and visual artist Miklós Kiss, also known as kissmiklos, has redefined this expectation with his latest endeavor, the POP&ROLL Art Toilet. This project has elevated the ordinary experience of a public restroom into a vibrant, immersive spectacle. Located in Budapest, the Art Toilet blends functionality with artistic expression, featuring 20 individual restrooms that display over 100 of kissmiklos’ artworks. Inspired by the interiors of Eastern European spas and pools in Budapest, as well as the nostalgic world of 80s and 90s gaming, the Art Toilet is designed with whimsical precision in kissmiklos' distinctive Neo-pop style.
