On Tuesday we hosted a happy hour for brand-side Ecomm & Retail leaders at the Acadia office in Atlanta. Most people didn't know each other, but left as friends at the end. Folks from brands like Red Bull, Hanes, Aloha, Reduce, and Kellanova swapped notes on AVN tactics, good DSP metrics to track, and how to get internal buy-in on investing in PDP content. I have 3 rules for these gatherings: 1. Name tags, so no great conversation is ever undermined by "sorry what was your name again?" 2. Cut through the small talk. We have some prompts to get a meaningful conversation going so people leave the event with some tangible learning. 3. No pitching! We're in it for the long haul, not a quick sale. Connecting the local ATL retail & ecomm community is a big priority for us this year. Ping me if you want to be in the loop for our next one!

Tip of the hat to David Beckham's brand strategist! Currently, you can see David Beckham all over the internet munching on Walkers Crisps UK crisps with Thierry Henry. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. In March, it was his hands, when Anheuser-Busch Stella Artois decided his face would be too distracting in their OOH campaign This month alone, it's been announced that Beckham has signed a global multi-year partnership with HUGO BOSS arguably a brand partnership that just makes sense. And today it's been revealed Beckham is now the face and ears of Bowers & Wilkins, the iconic British audio brand, celebrating his love for music and its role in his life. And there's more! Ahead of the Euros David Beckham is now an ambassador for AliExpress, a part of their tournament sponsorship, adding to an already impressive lineup of partnerships with brands like Nespresso UK and  SharkNinja. All of this comes on the heels of last year's docuseries about his life (Netflix’s most-watched show in Britain last year with 3.8 million views in its launch week alone) which took the meme world by storm. Beckham's brand has always been pretty impressive, but even for him, this is a lot. The commercial itself is nothing new creatively but it is an effective use of celebrity “influencer”, integration of multiple digital platforms, platformation, merchandising and product introduction.
