At its core, Adoniaa Collective holds a set of beliefs: - **Expanding Audience Reach:** We firmly believe that your products deserve a broader audience beyond the confines of family and friends. - **Moving Beyond Storage:** Your products deserve to step out of basements and warehouses, finding a home in a vibrant, accessible space. - **Embracing Multichannel Exposure:** Your products merit visibility across various channels, providing a robust marketing strategy. - **Accessible Experience:** Products should be tangible, available for touch and feel experiences at any time. - **Continuous Visibility:** Your products deserve high-visibility, reaching multiple customers each day. **The Adoniaa Collective Vision:** Our vision revolves around empowering black women entrepreneurs by creating exposure and awareness for their businesses in bustling malls across different cities. We aspire to celebrate entrepreneurship at every level, offering a dedicated storefront for businesses to showcase their unique brands. Adoniaa Collective was inaugurated on December 11, 2022, as a manifestation of Adoniaa's commitment to community growth. Rooted in the desire to amplify the voices of black entrepreneurs, the initiative took shape as 27 women, spanning various industries from food to beauty, fashion, and knowledge, united on December 12, 2022, to launch the first black collective in Calgary. Today, the collective has grown to include 51 entrepreneurs, fostering collaboration and synergy. Adonnia Collective stands as a testament to the collaborative spirit and diverse talents within our community, propelling black businesses to new heights.

Honoring Black History Month 🖤Inspired by JAY Z's powerful Grammy acceptance speech, I'm reminded of the resilience within our community. From unequal opportunities to systemic biases, underrepresented individuals face challenges across industries—getting overlooked for promotions and roles, not receiving accolades, even with stolen ideas that they then pass as their own. Jay's words echo the importance of showing up and staying encouraged, even when their actions and words try to tell you that you're not worthy. Keep showing up until they get it right! We love you. We just want you to get it right. It wasn't until witnessing his speech that I found the words I wanted to share this Black History Month. To my fellow trailblazers, keep pushing, keep striving – whether it's navigating unequal access, combatting stereotypes, or overcoming the hurdles of being overlooked. Your voice matters, your dreams are valid. Let Jay's success be a testament to the strength that lies within us. In every endeavor, from music to business, we navigate uncharted territories. So, to my community, stay up, stay resilient, and keep breaking barriers. 📣 Attention NABA Seattle Members!! 📣 Join UW for the 21st Annual Celebration of Black Alumni Achievement! The Celebration of Black Alumni Achievement (formerly Celebration of African American Alumni Achievement), was created by the late Dr. Thaddeus Spratlen, UW Foster Professor Emeritus of Marketing, to create a sense of community among Black alumni and students at the UW Foster School of Business. This celebration honors leaders within the Black community and raises funds to support the Association of Black Business Students (ABBS) Scholarship and African American Heritage Endowed MBA Scholarship. This is the only event at the Foster School specifically dedicated to raising funds for this critical need. While this event is geared towards UW Foster's Black alumni, students, faculty, staff and corporate partners, all who are committed to supporting and increasing racially diverse business and academic populations are welcomed. Business attire and comfortable shoes is highly recommended as this will be a networking atmosphere. However, limited seating will be provided throughout the room. Heavy hors d'oeuvres and a hosted bar will also be provided. This year, the Oikos Institute for Social Impact will once again recognize those in the Black Church and Historically Black Educational Institutions (HBEI's) that have innovative approaches to serving their community at our second Fishing Differently™ Impact Awards/Gala and Conference. Candidates are those who are using their spaces and places to make an impact in their community. Their properties are used to address issues of food insecurity, affordable housing, childcare, and recidivism or to create revenue and jobs. These are the types of projects that will be considered. We are looking for those projects that exemplify what it means to be Fishing Differently™ for social impact. We praise and celebrate those who share in our passion for this work.
