If you are a social science researcher outside the field of medicine, just embarking on a PhD, and would like me to support you with the "Inductive Process for Analyzing the Structure of Lived Experience" (IPSE), an applied research method conceptualized and developed by Jordan Sibeoni, et al., 2020, feel free to get in touch with me at: [email protected]
Unlike more traditional forms of data analysis such as interpretative thematic analysis, descriptive phenomenological analysis etc., which have as their primary goal, "production of knowledge," IPSE breaks new and exciting grounds in evidence-based medicine (EBM) by integrating elements of phenomenology and constructivist grounded theory, with the ultimate goal of bridging the chasm between research and practice.
See below, a link to my paper in which I provide an overview of this exciting protocol, which for the first time takes a "participant-centered" approach to not just data collection, but also analysis, interpretation, and intervention, by involving participants with lived experience in all the stages of research. My very first doctoral student to attempt this innovative protocol is Michelle Linda Cairns at the University of Derby, UK. I applaud her for taking on this painstaking project!
