Dayton: Bouncing Back from Pandemic The #Dayton region, from an economic development perspective, has bounced back from the hit it--and other cities across the United States--took because of the #covid19pandemic. What is driving this thrust of economic development and optimism in the #GemCity? In an exclusive story on WDTN-TV, John Seibel, Brooke Moore, and Riley Phillips discuss with three community leaders the rebirth of Dayton with reporter/anchor Riley Phillips. According to Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce Stephanie Keinath, the region's robust #highereducation is leading the way for growth and economic development. Likewise, the work of the Dayton Development Coalition and universities like Cedarville University have been key to this new growth. Julie Sullivan, executive vice president of the DDC cited back-to-back strong years of economic development initiatives in Dayton, while Dr. Jeff Haymond, dean of the #RobertWPlaster School of Business at Cedarville University emphasized the value of the region's business and education sectors in Dayton's reimagined transformation. https://lnkd.in/gbFf9V92

Democracies under pressure: the results are in! For the latest edition of the Berggruen Governance Index by the Berggruen Institute, our lead author Professor Helmut Anheier compared the performance of democracies and autocracies across 145 countries worldwide. The findings: Democracies are still best for delivering public goods such as security, education or civic participation. But autocratic across the world have managed to narrow the gap and are more aggressively than ever presenting themselves as an alternative model of life. The report was just presented at the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs. Get the full results here: https://bit.ly/3wDKYJG

Development needs a sense of inclusion in the buildings of the teams with suitable support systems for the cause in an effective manner. Policy needs a fair and transparent welfare approach to the targets. The government and its forms need a dynamic active spirit towards democratic will with not only sovereign will but also a truly serving nature towards humanity and its environment with transparency and accountability. The leaders in general and political leaders in particular need to maintain a friendly environment wherever they are and whatever for the governance.
