We had SO much fun at #ECM2024! 🤩 We prepared a video to wrap up the experiences that we had shared—from start to finish. We hope you had a fantastic time at the second Extracellular Matrix Pharmacology Congress, and that we will see you at ECM2026! More details will follow about the third congress in due time, and until then, enjoy the video! #pharmacology #drugdevelopment #ECM #precisionmedicine

Some people in this room think that tissue destruction is the most important thing. All the people in this room would think that tissue formation is the most important thing. And, and I think this is exactly why we have conferences as this. The central theme that's common denominators. What is the common denominator between the liver, between the long, between the kidney? Because if we understand those common denominators, we can have researchers come together, not inventing in silos, but cross fertilizing, making sure that we advance science faster. We have many things in the program. We cater to young scientists. We have rapid oral presentations and we have meet the professor sessions where we're fostering interactions between these KOLs, these key opinion leaders that are worlds were known for what they do. We need to inspire younger scientists. We need to influence younger scientists for them to walk faster in the right direction. An example of that is Scott Friedman. You know, we know perfectly well if we have a patient with advanced hepatitis C, or B, and we cure them or we suppress them. All the fibrosis goes away. So the liver clearly has a phenotype. That's their capacity to degrade, scar. What we don't know is where is it coming from? I'm here as a scientist. So what excites me is learning, always adding research. Biomedical research in particular, is like treasure hunting. And I come here for clues from the very wise and experienced scientists across the spectrum of biology. Who are interested in fibrosis and that expectation has been met. I'm enjoying learning. I'm always a student. The ECM Congress is an amazing opportunity to network with other investigators that are interested in fibroblasts and fibrosis and extracellular matrix. We've had dinners together and there are poster sessions and lots of coffee breaks and lunches and ample time to have informal discussions. From an exhibitor's perspective, the the conference is really good. We had a good mix between academic and clinical researchers as well as people from the industry, CROs and pharma. So we're very satisfied. We had a lot of very good interactions today. It's been great so far. I feel like the speakers have all been phenomenal and it's really been an amazing networking opportunity between academia and industry, and it's been a really engaging way to kind of learn more about the extracellular matrix across a plethora of disease types. I hope you have been inspired at the Extracellular Matrix Conference 2024. We're going to do the same thing again in 2026. Because, we all need to interact, we need to learn from each other. We need to generate new collaborations. So I hope you'll join us in 2026 because I think it will be even better. The extracellular matrix, we are realizing is the center of all organ diseases. We need to stop that matrix change to prevent organ damage and organ function decline. Please come and join us because we need you to interact with all the other scientists to make life different for patients. To view or add a comment, sign in

1moI enjoyed it alot ! Very well organized conference and very interesting discussions and talks!
