🌍 Exciting Times at the European #Workshop for Drug Design 2024! Dompé as part of the Ligate Project is thrilled to share highlights from the #EWDD24 held in the beautiful city of Siena, Italy. The conference was a remarkable success, providing a platform for pioneering discussions and collaborative learning within the scientific community. Dr. Akash Deep Biswas (PhD) presented groundbreaking work. We demonstrated the execution of over 16,442 molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, each lasting 250 nanoseconds, and binding free energy (BFE) calculations as part of the BAP Workflow. These simulations provide detailed insights into the behavior of molecules over time, aiding in the design of more effective drugs. Additionally, we completed over 8 million MD simulations, each 100 picoseconds long, and corresponding BFE calculations for the PS Workflow. These shorter simulations still offer valuable data on molecular interactions and are crucial for the rapid evaluation of potential drug candidates. These efforts underline the Ligate Project #commitment to advancing computational drug design, and it was inspiring to see such significant recognition and appreciation from our peers. A heartfelt thank you to the organizers and all participants for making this event so impactful. We are excited to leverage these insights to drive further innovation in drug discovery and development. #EWDD24 #DrugDesign #MDsimulations #BFEcalculations #LIGATE #Innovation #ScientificResearch #Networking #ML #AI #CADD #insilico #simulation

Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and co-founder of Peregrion. Sr. Business Developer TNO Efficient Drug Development. Supporting Biotech and Pharma companies having DMPK, ADME and Bioavailability challenges
It was worthwhile waiting for the outstanding topic on every #DMDG Open Meeting, The Debate, this year the motion was: "This house believes that human will be the only species in DMPK evaluation by the 65th Open Meeting" Speakers FOR the motion: Beth Williamson PhD and Ian Wilson Speakers AGAINST the motion: Toby Athersuch and Steve Hood Moderator: Simon Taylor No doubt that I am FOR the motion since TNO is adhering to the 3R’s principle by offering predictive in vitro and ex vivo platforms predicting human PK/metabolism. Besides the pay-off of our TNO spin-off Peregrion is: Human first, human only. Generating hADME data early in #DrugDevelopment #TNO #Peregrion #DMPK #DrugMetabolism #3Rs

Congratulations to the authors of this week's Publication Spotlight! Alan Courteau, John McGrath, Paul Michael Walker, Benoît Presles, Ruslan Garipov, Alexandre Cochet, François Brunotte, Jean-Marc Vrigneaud The use of preclinical simultaneous PET/MR imaging systems is on the rise, transitioning from physicists to pharmacology and biology experts. However, these combined scanners are susceptible to artefacts and performance deviations due to external factors or subsystem interference, potentially affecting image quality and data accuracy. Quality assurance is essential to prevent the loss of animals and experiments. To streamline this process, simple daily tests have been developed over the past 5 years for easy implementation by experimenters with limited technical expertise. Additional periodic tests are recommended for comprehensive system maintenance, using cost-effective materials for accessibility. The data was acquired on a MRS*DRYMAG 7T with an integrated PET insert system at the Preclinical imaging platform - Centre Georges François Leclerc. The article was published in Molecular Imaging and Biology in 2022. The publication is available at: https://lnkd.in/eaXWVBbp #MRI #PET #calibration

We’re excited to share the last in our series of new visualizations, “Competition”, as featured on our website: https://lnkd.in/eVNt6F4a. This graphic shows how ErythroMer’s use of a lipid nanoparticle to encapsulate and regulate Hb addresses the shortfalls of first-generation, unencapsulated HBOCs. In terms of competition, the standard of care is blood – a type-specific and perishable liquid that requires refrigeration, cold-chain, and use within about a month, so there have been many attempts to develop a substitute with more ideal features that improve upon these limitations. Attempts to date have failed due to two main reasons: (1) Poor oxygen delivery, and (2) Safety and efficacy issues that ended FDA trials. ErythroMer was specifically designed to fix these issues, and we have a growing set of preclinical data to support its future use in humans. In studies to date, we are demonstrating safety and efficacy in preclinical studies – in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro. None of the first-generation HBOC attempts are viable for use in trauma, and other technologies in development either lack ideal features or are far behind us in development.
