Last month, our Albany office had the pleasure of hosting a partner reception! Amidst lively conversations, speeches, and shared stories, the Kenmore Ballroom was filled with fellowship and appreciation. It was a wonderful opportunity for us all to come together and express our gratitude for the invaluable partnerships and relationships that make our work so fulfilling. To our partners and customers, thank you once again for your continued support and collaboration. It's because of you that we can confidently look towards the future with optimism and enthusiasm in the face of New York’s #housingcrisis. And thank you, too, to our amazing team in Albany, for your dedication to and passion for preserving and creating #affordablehousing across the capital region. #PartnerAppreciation #CPC50th #EquitableHousing #EnergyEfficientHousing #PartnerReception #ThankYou #Teamwork #AlbanyNYRealEstate #NYRealEstate #AlbanyAffordableHousing #Networking #BIPOCDevelopers #EmergingDevelopers #NYAffordableHousing

This! Portland should focus on this instead of listening to out of state land owners who refuse to adapt to the new normal. Instead of listening to the whiny commercial building owners complain about teleworking we should focus on building communities that support local business and affordable housing 24/7! Thousands of square feet available, plenty of jobs downtown, affordable housing via adaptive reuse seems like a win win if we replaced the housing that was one prominent in an area of need. It just seems like the easiest solution is often ignored when the elite have to maybe make an effort.

For quite some time now, our focus at Thurston EDC has revolved around a powerful concept: "placemaking." It's all about creating an area that's not just a place to live and work but a place where people want to be, thrive, and prosper. And guess what? Our investment in our community has been paying off BIG time! Over the past decade, Thurston County has witnessed an incredible transformation. Our population has surged by a staggering 49,000 people, and here's the kicker: We're growing at higher proportional levels than our regional neighbors. Take a look at the graph above. That dotted line? That's the Washington State average population percentage growth. And where do we stand? Thurston County is soaring high above it! We've been, and we continue to be, a driving force for growth in our region. This isn't just about numbers on a chart; it's about the strength of our community. It's about the vibrant neighborhoods, the bustling businesses, and the countless opportunities that make Thurston County the place to be.

Rethinking what’s next for New York and New Jersey begins with how our teams build collaborative relationships with the communities they serve. Because we live and work across this region, we see first-hand how our projects improve opportunities. Noteworthy projects — from the modernization of New York Penn Station in Manhattan to the restoration of the Lower Passaic River in New Jersey — show how our multidisciplinary capabilities shape our neighborhoods and build sustainable legacies for generations to come. Read more from our New York Metro Executive-in-Charge Thomas Prendergast on how we’ve supported infrastructure in New York and New Jersey for nearly a century — and how each experience builds a pathway for better futures: https://lnkd.in/ew3aSz5t #RethinkWhatsNext #RethinkingNYNJ #ConnectingCommunities #SustainableLegacies

ECAS Enforcement Teams, out spreading the messages against FOG; looking more like a Parking Enforcement or FOG SWAT Team!! Water Companies outsourcing their Regulatory obligations to private FOG SWAT Teams needs industry debate! Do you really need hi vis, body cams, radios and all that PPE to take a look at a kitchen's grease management?
We’re not the only ones engaging local community members! One of our team, out and about on behalf of Severn Trent, got talking to the Central BID team in Birmingham about the valuable work we do. #communityengagement #birmingham #environmentalprotection

Public engagement is often central to Our Future Cities work, and there is always room to learn from others, like PUBLIC PRACTICE. Here are some lessons for the Global South context: — Create "urban rooms", flexible spaces for ongoing community engagement, to support continuous dialogue and conversations between residents and developers. — Be open and clear about project constraints. For example: clear communication about what aspects of development can be influenced through engagement — Tailoring outreach strategies to include hard-to-reach and marginalised groups by meeting them in familiar spaces
Public engagement can often be seen as a hurdle in placemaking, and for the public, it can be perceived as a tick-box exercise that doesn’t result in change. Next Tuesday's #PublicTalks event brings together Associates to share best practice examples to foster public engagement built on collaboration and trust. Watch the recording of the Talk: https://lnkd.in/eudiMcPC You can submit your questions for the panel in advance: https://lnkd.in/ecu85_ci This talk features insights from: — Barnaby Johnston, Development Manager at Greater London Authority — Hafsa Bell, Strategic Applications: Principal Planning Officer at Guildford Borough Council — Lucy Large, Principal Urban Design Officer at Dacorum Borough Council — Preena Mistry, Project Manager at Rochdale Development Agency — Rebecca Crofton, Senior Town Centre Project Officer at Barnet Council — Sandhya Parekh Regeneration Manager at Croydon Council — Simon Lord, Housing Development Manager at Guildford Borough Council Join us at 13:00 for a live streaming of the Talk and at 13:45 for a live Q&A. A new report commissioned by Essex County Council’s Cultural Development team, has revealed that the county’s creative hubs positively impact the growth, innovation and vitality of its creative sector. The report has identified 63 creative hubs in Essex, and found evidence of them providing a positive impact on the sector across the board, enhancing community building, social impact and place-making as well as providing significant economic value. The report found that there are currently 17 such hubs in #Colchester, 12 in #Southend and 7 in #Chelmsford and that all nurtured creativity, innovation and talent.
