Do you like freedom backed up with friendly support and love feeling part of something important and exciting? I do. Imagine this in 4 years time: - You work for a leading consultancy, making genuine impacts in decarbonising our energy sector. - You have no boss and have complete control of your own career trajectory and what work you take on. - You have meaningful shares in the company and get material amounts as dividends as well as equal share of profits on top of a good salary. - You had an idea a year ago about a new business venture and are now part of the team making this happen, even setting up a new company to achieve it - You are trusted and supported by a group of friendly colleagues and you love coming in to the office to see them and exchange banter and ideas. This is not a vision. This is very much how myself and many of my colleagues are right now at Everoze. Non-hierarchical organisations are not for everyone, but for many of us it's an amazing, liberating experience, supported by some first rate people doing amazing things. If you're curious or just want more insights into how it all works, feel free to reach out to me or others, but to get you started, here are some great blog pieces from my colleague and friend, Joe: 1. We asked one of our Principal Associates, Josie Coffey, some quick fire questions about hiring in the Renewables sector... 1. What have you found candidates are looking for most in a new role? Skill enhancement – people are often looking for companies / roles that give exposure to emerging technologies so they can widen their portfolio. Utility-scale projects often gain the most interest from the candidate market. 2. Why are people leaving current roles? Frequent change in management is often the primary reason employees seek new opportunities, pulling people towards stable companies with consistent leadership. 3. What are the most in demand skillsets/ job titles you’re seeing in Renewables? Project Developers – people who have experience with land acquisition, permitting, land leasing, contract negotiation. 4. What is most exciting about the Renewables sector right now? Lots of development in the storage space which is crucial! Wind and solar energy remain at the forefront of Europe’s renewable energy expansion. Onshore wind and utility-scale solar projects, especially those paired with energy storage, are competing well against fossil fuels. Thanks to various tax credits and subsidies, these renewable projects are becoming more financially viable, even with the current economic challenges. Thank you for your thoughts, Josie Coffey! #OPRenewables #Hiring #RenewablesJobs

Check out the below opportunity at SEA! A perfect role for fellow emerging 'greenies' and policy wonks in the CPT/WC area. Ps: SEA does some great work. This is the perfect example of why I'm engaged in a personal campaign to steer folks with a similar academic and interest background as mine toward the climate/just transition/energy space both here and abroad. Energy security must mean more than our domestic generation challenges - or energy insecurity problems across the developing world particularly Africa. The #justenergytransition is but one of our generational development challenges. Across large swathes of our neighbours, energy insecurity/scarcity narrows or repudiates the 'just' and/or 'transition'. One of these days, I'll muster the gusto and focus to pen a rant on #justtransition; #justenergytransition; energy security, development. Only on LinkedIn if I lobby myself to believe my take is both hot and seminal (in my own mind).
📢 SEA is hiring! We are looking for a Junior to Mid-Level Energy Advisor to join our team. View the document below for details on the job description and on the application process. Closing date to apply is 11 August 2023. Contact [email protected] for further enquiries.
