All gas, no brakes over here! Once more, we close out another intense week on the phones! And don't worry, we back these numbers up with an equally intense amount of hard work! Last quarter, we partnered with a commercial roofing manufacturer to help them find a new controller as theirs was on the verge of retirement. As this was an incredibly time-sensitive placement, the role urgently needed to be filled for the new hire to be trained up within the necessary timeline. Despite challenges like commute preferences and specific industry experience, we found their match—a candidate with a strong background in sales and growth strategies. How can we help you? #thebridgergroup #hiring #recruiting #buildingmaterials #calls

Learn on the job. Earn on the job. We're making the industrial real estate market easier to break into. Traditionally, to get a start in real estate means you start at the bottom & learn on your own dime. This isn't how we operate at Ironhorn - our sales team employees earn a salary from day one while being resourced with what they need to do their job at a high level, close deals, and collect commission checks. The educational & personal development dynamic of our business is important to us. The investment we make into our team is literally an investment into our business. Our team learns with AND from each other - building a career in the real estate industry day by day while allowing consistency to compound. If you're looking for an employer who invests in you as you invest in them, we'd like to connect with you. Please contact us at [email protected]. Is your Hiring process damaging your business/ brand and reputation in the industry? I spoke with a HIGHLY experienced estimator two days ago. More than 20 years of experience in the industry and extremely well-connected with other industry professionals. As we were discussing a few possible opportunities. He asked me. "Is this for company X? I assumed it would be based on the location, I interviewed there 3 months ago. The process was 3 hours long and then I never heard back. I am also aware of another industry colleague who also went through the same thing. I wonder if there is really an opening or if the interview questions are just meant to gather information." If you are a hiring manager - you do NOT want to be known in the industry as a company that does this! People talk, people work together, and people attend the same events. My favorite customer UNDERSTOOD how small their industry was and how limited the pool of qualified hands in their geographic area was. Even when they did not want to hire a candidate who interviewed ( for a legitimate reason), they would still make sure to leave a very good impression on the candidate. You never know who you will need to hire in the future! Leave a bad impression on a professional and you can be sure that person will NOT want to join your team in the future. #hiring #recruiting #employerbrand

Since joining the roofing industry 3 years ago, I’ve learned quite a bit. 🏘️ From sales to shingles to people, there’s something new everyday. 📚 However, it didn’t take very long to realize the roofing industry can be the wild, wild west. 🤠 There are hundreds of different compensation structures and models, with varying job descriptions. 💵 More often than not, these models are lucrative for year 1, and maybe year 2, but provide very little, if any, support or opportunities beyond sales. 🛑 And, unfortunately, many companies in our industry don’t survive past year 3. 📉 At Cornerstone Roofing Solar , we’ve been reimagining how to create a more sustainable and career-minded workplace. 📈 What does that look like for us? 👀 - W-2 roles and job descriptions that play to strengths ✅ - Pouring into our team with the best tools and technology so we can perform at the highest level ✅ - A focus on organizational opportunities beyond sales ✅ After spending time last week interviewing and connecting with different people in the industry, I’m incredibly confident we are on the right path. 🤜 The people in our industry deserve an organizational structure where they can work for 10, 15 and 20 years. 🤝 #culture #roofing #career #construction #organizationalculture

The "ideal candidate" is not always your best hire. Instead of just seeking candidates who tick every box, think outside it for a second. Consider the hiring potential in those who may not fit the traditional, "tried-and-true" mold. With the right training and education, they could become invaluable assets to your team. Especially those who express a strong interest in growing at a company. By investing in development and training upfront, you not only grow your team, but you enrich your flexibility and openness to change. #construction #constructioncompany #hiring #groundupconstructionrecruiting

You've built an incredible company! It wasn't easy, but hell, it's been rewarding. You and your team work together like champs, and everyone feels like they're part of something big. You're always helping your employees grow, giving them cool opportunities to do and learn new stuff. You make sure everyone has time for family, rest, and play, which is awesome. You pay your employees well and give them good benefits. That's why they stick around! Everyone feels respected and appreciated. You make sure your team stays safe, you keep everyone in the loop, and you're not shy about giving props when they do great work. They love that! You guys always deliver top-notch work. That's why your customers keep coming back! 🤷♀️ So, why the heck are you having such a hard time hiring? First off, congratulations 👏👏👏 You took on something huge, risky, expensive, and challenging - and you succeeded! You're bettering the lives of your communities, your employees, and their families. Well done, and thank you! But, before blaming your hiring problem on the next generation's work ethic or the skilled trades shortage, ask yourself these 3 questions: 1️⃣ Does anyone outside my company KNOW all these things? Have we made all of the above clear and highly visible on our social media pages, our website career page, and in our job posts? 2️⃣ Do we have an efficient system for job distribution, hiring, talent pool management, and communication? 3️⃣ Have we attracted enough people to be selective, and does our selection process get us the right people? If you answered no 👎 to these questions, the solutions are clear and very much within your control. Get on my calendar if you wanna chat about it. - 📸: Banks Construction Company paving crew #betterdirtworld #construction #hiring #recruiting #people

𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐇𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐎𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐁𝐞 𝐚 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞-𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐲! 🏗️ I get constant pushback when presenting candidates who have owned their own construction company. Some of the main objections I receive are: ◾Adjustment to Company Structure ◾Potential Overqualification ◾Salary Expectations ◾Cultural Fit My personal opinion on hiring someone who has owned their own construction company is that they can bring a higher level of experience and leadership to your team. Below are some points on why I feel company owners would be an asset to your team. ◾Business Mindset ◾Problem-Solving Abilities ◾Leadership Experience ◾Industry Connections If you’ve hired former business owners or have been employed by a company after successfully running you're own company, what has been your experience and challenges? 🏗

Actual word for word conversation this morning with a VP today: VP: Rob I need a Superintendent Me: OK - what project and what project experience do they need to have? VP: Don't know yet. Someone who can build though Me: Might be hard to find people and pitch the role based off that, any ongoing projects you're excited about? VP: Just find me somebody. Me: What are you used to regarding recruiting fees? VP: Cheap. Find me someone and do it for cheap. We'll arm wrestle about fee later after you find someone I like. Me: Here are my fee options, just want to be upfront so no time is wasted. VP: Hey enough of that, we'll talk about it when we get there. 😂 🙄 👋 💪 #hiring #maybenothiring #construction #recruiting

Recently, the old One AT&T building in St. Louis, MO was finally sold for a mere $3.6 million. In 2006, it sold for $205 million. More than half of the office districts in the US that are facing a decline are in the Midwest. Can cities reverse this trend and bounce back from WFH and the pandemic? #TheHeadhunters #headhunters #jobsearch #jobseekers #jobopening #jobs #humanresources #hiring #candidates #employment #careers #management #recruiting #staffing #jobmarket #engineering #manufacturing #accountant #finance #metals #mining #heavyequipment #qualityassurance #healthcare
