Let's hit the way back machine for this John Wayne! Bob Armstrong retired from The Belden Brick Company, with his last official day on Thursday, May 30, 2024. Bob's career started when he left the Port Washington Purple Riders. He moved on to work at the U.S. Concrete Co. making sewer pipe and then joined the Belden Port Washington Plant, where his Brother Fred also worked. Ever the rebel, Bob took his talent to Stonecreek Brick, where he spent 23 years working in the packaging line, operating machinery, and making the 15-minute trip each way into the deep mine. Only a few left can say they did this kind of work in the Brick business! After his time at Stonecreek, Bob realized that The Belden Brick Company was where he belonged. In December 2004, he started working at The Belden Brick Company for 19 and a half years. He initially worked a swing shift in the Kiln Department and later settled into working the midnight shift. Bob was highly dependable and played a crucial role in maintaining our operations. He had an excellent attendance record, consistently fulfilled his responsibilities, and showed great enthusiasm for his work. Outside of work, Bob is an avid supporter of Cleveland baseball (go, Tribe!) and has a soft spot for the Minnesota Vikings. Bob eagerly anticipates his retirement and the new experiences he will enjoy with his family. We sincerely thank Bob Armstrong for his valuable contributions to The Belden Brick Company. Farewell, you old war horse! #ThankYouThursday #BeldenBrickCo
