I have occasionally used Voldemort's murder of Charity Burbage as an example of how honour-based violence might appear in literature.
(That is the scene where Charity, the muggle studies professor, is being fed to Nagini for her public opinions that wizards should marry muggles to avoid extinction.)
The purity fixation of Death-eaters would regard Charity's proposal as miscegenation, and assign Charity the status of "blood traitor".
Now JK provides another opportunity to explain honour-based violence in her recent incarnation as Death-eater, espousing anti-trans purity narratives. For JK to use her vast platform to now take the opposite role is disappointing but illustrative.
(1) Escalating violence;
(2) By a group;
(3) Against a dissenter/defector;
(4) Enforcing group ideology;
(5) In defence of group socio-economic structure.
This is what honour-based violence looks like in western societies.

Millions of people have moved to Atlanta in the last 10 years for the economic growth it has seen which is awesome. This bill reminds me that while Atlanta is a thriving metro center of America, the reality it exists in remains quite back water socially and politically. Eyes wide open. The city and the state are stark contrasts of one another.
