On the occasion of the EU-U.S.-Summit in Washington Ulrich Ackermann, VDMA Foreign Trade, says: "The trade and investment relations between the EU and the U.S. are crucial to the economic success of both regions. Moreover, the EU and the U.S. share similar democratic and market-oriented values. Improved bilateral trade relations are, therefore, more necessary than ever in these uncertain and tense times. Greater cooperation is needed to achieve progress and improvements that can benefit industries on both sides of the Atlantic. We, therefore, call on the EU and the U.S. to agree on concrete measures during this Summit that will lead to a long-term solution to the existing trade conflicts.
